Have you ever felt like you needed a push to start working on your portfolio? Or maybe you don't even know where to start?

Well, every Wednesday, at 17:00, we are meeting in our Community Server to start building our portfolios one by one! Portfolio co-build is a series of weekly community led co-working sessions amongst teenagers where we'll be chatting, drawing and helping each other out. Every event we will have a monthly learning subject separated in four themes presented with tutorials attached.

Our Incubator Talks Series continues with a presentation of the admission process, course structure and life at the Animation & Game Design course at the Hochschule Darmstadt University in Dieburg, Germany!

Hochschule Darmstadt is one of the few universities in Germany that offer classes in English! The university is also known for its connections with the industry and its focus on collaborative work. Portfolio Bootcamp with Paul Mureșan ↪️10 May at 11:00, online. Do you want to build your portfolio? Maybe you’re looking for an animation university or a job in the industry? Or maybe you want to start selling your own commissions. Share your portfolio for live or written feedback.Your portfolio should contain 10-12 works. It is optional (but appreciated) for up to 3 of those works to be animations.

‼️Portfolio Submission Deadline: 7 May

Paul (Professional Illustrator and Animator) will be supported by Tomas (Incubator Workshops Manager) and Klaus (Incubator Community Manager) who will guide you through building a strong foundation for any kind of portfolio!

We’re also getting ready to launch Animation Lab, our online animation workshop that takes place all summer long, for which you’ll need to apply with a portfolio, so this is your chance to start building it! 💪

Incubator & .zette are talking art and activism ↪️ 23 April, 19:00 EET, online. Join us at the link in bio. Meet the speakers ⬇️ Spoiler alert! They work across fine art, film, performance, literature and medicine and they all intersect their artistic practices with activism.

🗣️Gianluca Ascione (IT), graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, (Comics Languages). He has created comics and illustrations for publishers such as Canicola and Feltrinelli, and newspapers such as Domani, also contributing to numerous fanzines and independent projects. He experiments with animation for musical projects and DJ sets.

🗣️Here, there was a park: Ștefania Bodescu & Andreea David (RO)


Ștefania is an artist and filmmaker who uses animation, collage and digital art to explore themes of reality, dreams and how we navigate them. She graduated from Falmouth University with her student film “Crispy Love-Line” which was nominated at the BFI Film Festival. She initiated the ”Animators for IOR” Collective, which combine artistic expression with local civic engagement.

Andreea David is a choreographer, performer, activist and former architect. She orients her choreographic practice around perception and the body's relationship to its environment, physical and political. She has been active to protect a 12-hectare plot of land, receded from a park to private landlords who managed to destroy 1,000 trees over 3 years.

🗣️Ilinca Mănescu (RO) is a q***r feminist novelist and screenwriter. Ilinca published her debut novel, Copiii Ecosistemului (Children of the Ecosystem), in 2021, the first eco-q***r dystopian novel in Romanian literature. She continues writing short stories, personal essays and screenplays. Alongside her writing career, Ilinca is also a breast cancer screening specialist, frequently collaborating with non-profit initiatives for women and gender diverse groups.

Have you ever wondered how films get awarded at festivals? ↪️ Join our workshop with Alexis Hunot (FR), the .ro Festival Teen Jury mentor, film critic and curator, who will guide you through the process of being an animation jury.

Who knows? Maybe in October you’ll be part of the next Animest Teen Jury.
