🌍 IFYD at the European Solidarity Corps event organised by the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), the National Agency for Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps in Bulgaria!

On 8–9 October 2026, IFYD was represented by Project Manager Anmar Al-rikabi, Project Administrator Ralitza Ivanova Bardarova , and ESC volunteer Léïa at the national meetings and workshops held at Astoria Hotel in Sofia, Bulgaria.

The event brought together representatives of organisations holding the European Solidarity Corps Quality Label, along with their international volunteers, to exchange good practices, share experiences, strengthen partnerships, and explore ways to improve the quality and impact of volunteering projects across Bulgaria and Europe. 🤝💙

As a Quality Label holder, IFYD was pleased to take part in this inspiring exchange, contributing to discussions on international volunteering, cooperation, and creating meaningful opportunities for young people. 💙💛

🌍 REIMAGINING Y-PEER: STRATEGY, STRUCTURE & STABILITY

We are happy to announce the upcoming Y-PEER International Training Mobility on youth-led strategic planning and leadership, taking place in Lozen, Bulgaria, from 29 October to 4 November 2026.

The training mobility will bring together Y-PEER youth workers, leaders and representatives from the national and international network to reflect on the future of Y-PEER and work together towards a stronger, more sustainable, and more connected network.

During the training mobility, participants will:
🔹 Review Y-PEER’s current structure, coordination and communication mechanisms
🔹 Co-develop a 3–5 year strategic plan for the network
🔹 Explore sustainability, partnerships and resource mobilisation
🔹 Strengthen leadership, accountability, coordination and conflict-resolution capacities

🤝 We look forward to welcoming Y-PEER leaders from across the network and creating space for meaningful dialogue, collaboration and action!

Last week, IFYD youth workers and volunteers had the pleasure of joining an inspiring Environmental Education and Sustainability Week in Târgu Mureș, Romania, hosted in by Dimitrie Cantemir University.

Throughout the week, participants explored important topics related to environmental education, sustainability, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while sharing ideas and experiences from their different countries and communities.

The training was not only about learning in the classroom. Through interactive activities, group work, discussions, and outdoor experiences, participants had the chance to connect with nature, discover practical approaches to sustainability, and think about how young people can contribute to positive environmental change.

Bringing together students, youth workers, and participants living in three different countries Bulgaria 🇧🇬, Romania 🇷🇴 and Spain 🇪🇸 and coming from diverse backgrounds and cultures
created a great space for intercultural learning, exchange, and cooperation.

This week was part of the joint KA2 Erasmus+ project EDUAmb – Environmental Education in Schools, involving Spain, represented by Centro Privado Plurilingüe Liceo “La Paz”; Romania, represented by Dimitrie Cantemir University of Târgu Mureș; and Bulgaria, represented by the International Foundation for Y-PEER Development (IFYD) 🧡

We are IFYD and Association PFE inviting youth workers to join our Erasmus+ Training Course "The Story of Us : Storytelling in Youth Work"

The training will take place in Petrohan, Bulgaria, from 18 October, 2026 (Day of Arrival) to 25 October, 2026 (Day of Departure).

About the training:

The Story of Us is an invitation to step into autumn together, is about sharing our stories, building communities, and discovering the wisdom that lives within our experiences.

It invites us to listen deeply—to the voice, the body, the environment, the spaces in between, and the truth behind each story.

It is about giving others our full attention, meeting people as they are, staying present and empathetic, and creating space without judgment, agendas, or the need to fix.

Expenses: Travel tickets up to the limits set by Erasmus+, and full board accommodation are covered by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

The International Foundation for Y-PEER Development (IFYD) is looking for 4 volunteers to join our YouthPrint 4.0 long-term volunteering project under the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) in Sofia, Bulgaria.

📍 Location: Sofia, Bulgaria
🏠 Host: International Foundation for Y-PEER Development
⏳ Duration: 5 months
📅 15 October 2026 – 15 March 2027

👥 We are looking for:

🌍 3 international volunteers from an eligible country
🇧🇬 1 volunteer residing in Sofia, Bulgaria

🌎 Who can apply?

Young people aged 18–30 residing in:
🇪🇺 EU Member States, as well as North Macedonia, Türkiye, Albania, Serbia, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine.

Summer is all about music, good vibes, meeting new people and taking care of ourselves along the way 🩷

Our European Solidarity Corps volunteers were happy to join the “Summer Without Risk” anti-AIDS awareness campaign during two concerts at Sofia Summer Fest 🎵

Together with IFYD and Association "Professional Forum for Education" , and with the support of the National Center of Public Health and Analysis (NCPHA) and the Regional Health Inspectorate of Sofia, our volunteers helped spread awareness and distributed 600 condoms to festival visitors.

We believe that awareness can be simple, open, and positive and that creating safer communities starts with small actions. 🤝

A big thank you to Sofia Summer Fest Sofia Summer Fest for welcoming us and giving our volunteers the opportunity to be part of this initiative, and to everyone who contributed to making it happen. 🎵

This Saturday, our volunteers had the privilege of joining the Social Kitchen organized by St. Elijah Church in Druzhba, where dedicated volunteers prepare and serve meals for people in need.

We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this meaningful initiative and support a community built on kindness, generosity, and service. Thank you to everyone who took part and gave their time to help others.

Every act of kindness, no matter how small, has the power to make a difference.🤍

Our Community Exchange event has successfully come to an end, and we couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who joined us! 💚

Thanks to the dedication of our amazing volunteers, the space was transformed into a welcoming place where people could exchange clothes, toys, books, and household items instead of letting them go to waste. Every item shared was a step toward a more sustainable future and a stronger community.

Throughout the day, our volunteers welcomed participants, organized donations, assisted visitors, and ensured everything ran smoothly. Their teamwork, kindness, and positive energy made this event possible.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, exchanged, volunteered, and supported this initiative. Together, we proved that small actions can create a big impact—for our community and for the environment. 🌱♻️
