🌍 📅 🤝 On 16–17 July 2026, the Voice of Seniors project partners met in Ljubljana, Slovenia, for the fourth Train-the-Trainers session, continuing the development of partners' skills in podcast creation.

📝 Hosted by the Anton Trstenjak Institute of Gerontology and Intergenerational Relations and facilitated by Continuum, the training focused on Audio Editing.
Participants followed a step-by-step approach to cutting, mixing, and polishing audio recordings, gaining the practical skills needed to confidently use audio editing software and produce high-quality podcasts🎧🎙️

Through exercises and knowledge sharing, the trainers further strengthened their technical expertise and enhanced their capacity to support future learners in creating engaging and professional podcast content🎯👏

🎙️ What if your story could travel across Europe?

For many older adults, decades of knowledge, memories, and life experience remain within family circles or are never shared at all. At the same time, many seniors feel excluded from the digital world, despite having so much to contribute.

Voice of Seniors was created to change that❤️
Through podcasting, seniors can participate in digital storytelling, share the traditions that shaped their communities, discuss issues they care about, pass on lifelong skills, or simply tell the stories that made them who they are. In doing so, their voices become part of a conversation that educates, inspires, and connects generations🎧💬

🌱 👥 One of the organisations helping bring this vision to life is CitizensAct, a non-profit organisation based in Nicosia, Cyprus, is committed to promoting active citizenship, social inclusion, and equal opportunities for all citizens. CitizensAct supports older adults through lifelong learning and by creating opportunities for younger and older generations to exchange knowledge, experiences, and perspectives.
Intergenerational learning helps strengthen social connections and combat social isolation and age-related stereotypes. 📚💡 These values are at the heart of the Voice of Seniors project.

🎙️ We are recording our first podcast episodes !

After the inspiring training we attended in April in Portugal on audio equipment and recording techniques, it was time to put our new skills into practice.

In France, we recently carried out our very first podcast interview in Paris with Régine Florin (picture), President of the EGPE (European Grandparents Association). She told us that volunteering has always been a part of her life and explained how she now passes on this belief by helping others. She also shared that intergenerational learning holds a special meaning for her.
It was a wonderful opportunity to begin collecting and preserving the stories and experiences that are at the heart of the Voice of Seniors project.

This is an important milestone, as each project partner is currently recording a podcast episode before we all meet again in Ljubljana in just a few weeks for our next training. There, we will learn how to transform our recordings into polished podcasts, ready to be shared with a wider audience.

Step by step, we are empowering seniors through digital storytelling, ensuring their voices, memories, and life experiences are heard, valued, and preserved for future generations. 🎧

Together, let's bridge the gap between the generations!

🤝 M3Cube association is a French laboratory for conceptualising new ideas for the implementation of technological advances in the social field, based in Paris, France since 2008, and which strives to strengthen ties between the generations.

Our areas of expertise:
💻 Creation of new digital training methods for everyday life, on a variety of topics such as digital technology, online safety, health, environmental protection, the economy and the media,
🖊 Storytelling and intergenerational transmission of memories and knowledge,
♻️ Creating intergenerational dialogue to boost citizen action against climate change,
🧑‍🦳 Transfer of pedagogical methods for disadvantaged groups (elderly people, disabled, immigrants),
🫂 Fostering solidarity between different generations,
🎯 Assistance with administrative and financial management, preparation of grant applications at national or European level,

On April 28th and 29th, Portugal hosted the 3rd Training Module of the European project Voice of Seniors. The mission was to master the technical world of sound with the workshop: ""Module 3: Equipment & Recording"". 🎧

It was an intensive two-day journey dedicated to technical learning, where we dived deep into:
✅ Microphones & Acoustics: How to capture the essence of every testimony with crystal-clear quality.
✅ Recording Software: Digital tools to edit and preserve precious memories.
✅ Technical Basics: Ensuring the best audio standards for storytelling.

Our goal is to master these tools so we can pass on the highest quality knowledge to our seniors. We want their stories and memories to be recorded with the dignity and professionalism they deserve, fighting isolation through digital literacy and communication. 🗣️✨

By working alongside our international partners, RUTIS continues to bring European innovation and best practices to our Senior Universities.

For over 20 years, RUTIS has been driven by one core belief: that aging is not a destination, but an opportunity for new life projects. Based in Almeirim, Portugal, we are the leading voice and the engine behind the Third Age Universities.

Who are we? More than just a non-profit organization, we are a vibrant community. Today, we represent 426 Senior Universities, connecting over 65,000 senior students and supported by the dedication of 8,500 volunteer teachers.

What do we do? We transform daily routines into celebrations of life. Through RUTIS - Rede de Universidades Seniores, senior talent takes center stage in:
• 🎭 Theater, Music, and Dance Festivals;
• 🏆 Sports Competitions and General Culture Tournaments;
• ✈️ Educational Travel, exchanges, and lifelong learning.

Our work ranges from institutional support and research on active aging to creating social spaces where loneliness has no place. We work closely with national authorities to ensure that active aging policies in Portugal truly value those with the most experience to share.

Because we believe that when seniors return to learning, teaching, and socializing, our entire society becomes richer, more dignified, and more connected. 🤝

☝️It might sound unfamiliar, but it’s something we encounter more often than we think. Ageism refers to stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination based on age, and it can affect anyone at any stage of life.

🎙️At the Anton Trstenjak Institute of Gerontology and Intergenerational Relations, we will explore this important topic through our podcast series.

🌟 Every stage of life holds potential. We help people live it fully. 🌟

👋 The Anton Trstenjak Institute of Gerontology and Intergenerational Relations is Slovenia’s national institute, founded in 1992 as a non-profit organisation by a group of experts and the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and later co-founded in 2004 by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia for the field of ageing and long-term care, working across the country to support healthy and quality aging.

🌿 Our mission is to develop models, programs, methods, and tools that support:
• Holistic aging – social, mental, spiritual, and physical well-being
• Integrated long-term care in Slovenia
• Solidarity across generations
• Prevention, motivation, and life purpose, even in later life

✨ To achieve this, we coordinate three national networks:
- The Slovenian Network of Age-friendly Cities and Communities
- Slovenian association of informal caregivers
- Slovenian network of volunteers for quality aging

💡 We are active in scientific research, “field-based” development, working with volunteers and family carers, professional consulting for organizations, local communities, and the government, and publishing in the fields of gerontology and long-term care.

🌍 Development is also possible in old age. Because when older people are supported to live fully and share their wisdom, entire communities thrive.
