The remaining days of training course “Towards Sustainable Lifestyles” were intensive, but also very interesting. We worked on specific tasks both in international and national teams. Together, we discovered many facts about how unsustainably we live and how much we harm nature and the planet through the modern lifestyle we lead. Each participant assessed their own ecological footprint, as well as the footprint of the households we live in, and of course explored ways to become more sustainable.
We planted 15 acacia trees in the center of the village of Banya to bring joy to the local people and to help the bees. We also held a traveling training session on the Rhodope narrow-gauge railway. We couldn’t miss the opportunity to showcase Bulgaria’s beautiful nature to the participants, so on the last day we worked outdoors while learning new facts and terms.

On the second day of our training course “Towards Sustainable Lifestyles,” we explored our personal ecological footprints. All of us were shocked by the results. Afterwards, we compared the ecological footprint of each country with that of the EU. We also learned that producing a single car requires around 300,000 liters of water.

Today, on Earth Day, we officially launched the training course “Towards a Sustainable Lifestyle,” funded by the Erasmus+ Programne and part from our Accreditation in the field of Youth.
Together with youth workers from Greece, Serbia, Turkey, North Macedonia, and Bulgaria, we created a “tree” of our fears and expectations, got to know each others and shared plenty of fun moments.

We wrapped up the day by deepening our understanding of what a sustainable lifestyle truly means—reflecting not only on environmental responsibility, but also on the everyday choices and values that shape a more conscious and balanced way of living. The energy, openness, and collaboration within the group set a strong and inspiring foundation for the days ahead.

The sixth and seventh days of the project were perhaps among the most active, but also filled with meaningful emotions and memorable experiences. We were divided into groups and given tasks to explore different locations, deliver messages, and create videos. These activities encouraged teamwork, creativity, and a deeper connection with our surroundings.

On the sixth day, each participant planted a tree that will continue to grow in the town of Razlog, symbolizing our shared experience and lasting impact. Later, we had a picnic in the mountains where we cooked together, shared stories, and strengthened our bonds. We also had the opportunity to explore Razlog and Bansko, discovering more about the local culture and traditions.

These days were especially valuable for intercultural learning, as we exchanged perspectives, learned from one another’s backgrounds, and built a stronger sense of understanding and respect between different cultures.

On the fifth day of the *Intercultural Communication and Identity* project, we were divided into three teams. Each team was tasked with developing the life and characteristics of a different cultural community based on given conditions. The activity challenged us to think creatively and collaborate effectively while exploring diverse perspectives. It was both interesting and fun, and at the same time it helped us improve our communication skills and better understand how cultures can be shaped and expressed.

Day four of the youth exchange on Intercultural Communication and Identity focused on prejudices and stereotypes. Through interactive activities and group discussions, participants explored how assumptions about others are formed and how they can influence our behavior and relationships. We shared personal experiences and reflected on how stereotypes can limit understanding between cultures. By the end of the day, everyone gained a deeper awareness of the importance of empathy, open-mindedness, and challenging biases in order to build more inclusive and respectful connections.

Day 3 of our project "Intercultural Communication and Identity" , funded by the Erasmus+ Program, was both inspiring and thought-provoking.

Today, we focused on exploring our personal “Identity Wheel,” reflecting on the many layers that shape who we are — from culture and values to experiences and beliefs. This activity helped us better understand not only ourselves, but also the diversity within our group.

We also worked on developing effective communication skills, learning how empathy, active listening, and openness can bridge cultural differences.

A powerful day of self-discovery and connection!

The first two days of the youth exchange on “International Communication & Identity,” funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, are dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all participants. Through ice-breaking activities, team-building exercises, and interactive workshops, participants begin to get to know each other, share their cultural backgrounds, and build trust within the group.

During this initial phase, the focus is on exploring the concepts of identity and communication in an international context. Participants reflect on their own identities, discuss stereotypes, and examine how culture influences the way we communicate. Activities such as group discussions, role-plays, and non-formal learning methods encourage active participation and mutual understanding.

These first days set the foundation for the entire exchange, fostering openness, respect, and curiosity, which are essential for deeper intercultural dialogue in the days to come.

От 22 до 26 април 2026 г. екипът на сдружение „Международни инициативи за сътрудничество“ ще изпълни обучение за младежки работници по програма Erasmus+. То е част от нашата акредитация по Ключова дейност 1 – сектор „Младеж“.
🌱 Проектът „Towards Sustainable Lifestyle“(„Към устойчив начин на живот“) има за цел да помогне на участниците да развият знания, умения и нагласи, необходими за успешно взаимодействие в разнообразна културна среда и за изграждане на по-устойчиво бъдеще.
✨ По време на обучението участниците ще:

🔹 Усвоят навици за устойчив начин на живот;
