What happens when a place once controlled by the mafia becomes a space for education and community?
Three youth workers from CEGE explored this question during L.E.G.A.L., a training course in southern Italy focused on active legality and social anti-mafia practices.
Hosted at Al di là dei sogni—a property confiscated from the Camorra and reclaimed for social use—the programme took legality out of textbooks and placed it within real stories, difficult choices and communities that decided to resist.
The participants examined how organised crime becomes normalised, how exploitation takes root and how youth work can challenge the culture that allows both to survive.
