The Youth4Regions Competition is looking for original stories📜, photos 📸, videos 🎥 and audio 🎧 pieces on EU-funded projects.

Selected participants will get:

👤 Who can apply?
• Aged 18-30

🔥 New project shields Bulgaria🇧🇬 and Türkiye🇹🇷 from devastating wildfires!🌲

The FLAMESHIELD project strengthens cross-border fire prevention and emergency response through modern firefighting equipment, joint trainings, volunteer teams, drones, specialised vehicles🚒 and coordinated action between institutions on both sides of the border.

The initiative is backed with EUR 5M by the Bulgaria-Türkiye Programme and brings together emergency services, forestry authorities and municipalities in a mission to protect people and nature from the growing threat of forest fires.🌿

"Where actions of a single country cannot provide the results needed, there Interreg programmes come in, so that with joint efforts we can respond to challenges that go above borders", said Desislava Georgieva, director of “Territorial Cooperation Management” Directorate at the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, on the contract awarding ceremony.

The event included Alexander Dzhartov, director of the Bulgarian national fire service, and mayors of Svilengrad - Anastas Karchev, Topolovgrad - Bozhin Bozhinov, and Bolyarovo - Hristo Hristov.

🔜Next regional consultation of the future Interreg!

📍 Haskovo is welcoming a regional consultation on the 🆕 cross-border cooperation programmes between Bulgaria🇧🇬, Türkiye🇹🇷 and Greece🇬🇷. The event will bring together institutions, NGOs, businesses, academia and local stakeholders to discuss future priorities.

Come and have your say that may outline the 2028-2034 programmes❗️

B-solutions, DG REGIO’s initiative to address legal and administrative obstacles, launched a 🆕 call. It addresses public bodies and cross-border structures and covers:
✅institutional cooperation
✅public services
✅labour market and education
✅EU Green Deal

Selected cases will receive support of legal experts who will analyse legal or administrative obstacles hindering cross-border cooperation because of laws or administrative procedures that are not matching on both sides of the border.

The call is open until 30 June 2026.

📘 A 🆕 PIM has just arrived!

The third version of the Project Implementation Manual (PIM) of the Bulgaria-Türkiye Programme is available, delivering more simplifications for all beneficiaries.

🔹 What’s new in Version 3?
📌 New annex with clarifications and explanations on communication & visibility rules;
📌 Easier project amendments through a unified procedure and reduced administrative burden;
📌 More detailed rules for publishing public procurement dossiers;
📌 Simplified unit cost verification with minimum required supporting documents.
