🔹 Apply as a Secondee
For organisations interested in sending a secondee to gain practical experience and develop skills within the BCThubs network.
🔹 Offer to Host a Secondee
For organisations willing to share their expertise, methodologies, facilities and working practices with others.

The matching process will be based on the skills requested by potential secondees and the skills offered by host organisations.

🌊 BCThubs was presented at the International Conference “Changing Cities VII”, held in Spetses, Greece, through the presentation “Underwater Cultural Heritage to Drive Smart Specialisation Strategies: Lessons Learnt from Bulgaria, Greece & Malta”.

The presentation was delivered by Nektaria Marava and Stella Kyvelou on behalf of the Hellenic Institute of Marine Archaeology (IENAE - HIMA), partner of the BCThubs project, as part of the special session “Policies for European Islands”.

The contribution highlighted how Underwater Cultural Heritage can be understood also as a potential driver for regional innovation, blue economy development and smart specialisation strategies.

The BCThubs project was proudly featured at the European Maritime Day 2026, held in Limassol, Cyprus, bringing together the European maritime community to exchange ideas, explore collaborations and discuss the future of the sustainable blue economy.

🌊 Atlantis Consulting presented BCThubs at THALASSA 2026

On 21–22 May 2026, Atlantis Consulting S.A. participated in THALASSA 2026 in Larnaca, Cyprus, presenting the BCThubs project through a dedicated scientific poster.

The poster, presented by Angelos Manglis, focused on the role of Blue Culture Technology Excellence Hubs as regional innovation ecosystems for the sustainable protection, preservation, accessibility, and promotion of Underwater Cultural Heritage.

Through BCThubs, regional hubs in Greece, Malta, and Bulgaria bring together research, industry, public authorities, cultural heritage actors, and blue economy stakeholders to support the uptake of innovative Blue Culture Technologies.
A great opportunity to share BCThubs’ vision for connecting digital innovation, sustainability, and Underwater Cultural Heritage.

🌊 BCThubs at the Widening Impacts Spring 2026 Webinar Series

On 22 May 2026, the BCThubs project participated in the Widening Impacts Spring 2026 Webinar Series with the dedicated session:
“BCThubs’ Story: From Idea Conception to Post-Project Ambitions and Vision.”

During the webinar, the BCThubs team presented the project’s journey — from the initial concept and creation of the consortium to the establishment of the Blue Culture Technology Excellence Hubs, the development of key technological solutions, and the project’s future ambitions.

The session highlighted BCThubs’ contribution to the protection, study, and promotion of Underwater Cultural Heritage through advanced blue technologies, including VR/AR tools, AI-powered safeguarding solutions, underwater robotics, and diver safety systems.

A warm thank you to the organisers of the Widening Impacts Spring 2026 Webinar Series, the moderator, the speakers, and all participants who joined the discussion.
