🪲 Meet Scarabee — your little guide to a different way of living

What if your self-help journey had a guide who was small, curious… and a dung beetle? 🌿

Meet Scarabee, the online guide and assistant of the Serviceberry Economy Alliance.

Scarabee is inspired by something we often overlook: the invisible value of small contributions.
A dung beetle takes what others consider waste and quietly turns it into fertility. Nothing is wasted. Value simply keeps circulating.

That is Scarabee's lesson — and the idea behind the Serviceberry economy.

🪲 Scarabee can help you:
🌱 reflect on your own choices and habits

🤝 explore reciprocity, contribution and community

💡 discover how your skills and ideas can create value

🌳 Meet Scarabee. Take the Gift Circle. See what you discover about yourself.

The circle is waiting for you. 🪲🌱

🌿 What if a house could be more than just a house?

What if we stopped asking only “What does it cost?” and started asking “What can I contribute?”

That is the idea behind Serviceberry House in the Rhodope Mountains of Bulgaria.

An old house becomes the starting point for something bigger: a learning centre, coliving community, and place for people who want to explore what an economy based on reciprocity, sharing and care could look like.

Inspired by The Serviceberry by Robin Wall Kimmerer, we are creating a place where knowledge, skills, food, time and resources can circulate — and where value is measured not only in money, but also in relationships, trust and what we can contribute to one another and to the environment.

🌱 The Serviceberry House Alliance goes beyond one house.

It is an invitation to build a network of people who want to learn, contribute, share and create a different way of living together — locally in the Rhodopes, but eventually in other places too.

There are many ways to get involved:
🏡 live and build together
🌿 join workshops and retreats
🛠️ share your knowledge and skills
🤝 contribute to the community
🌍 support from wherever you are
🏘️ help bring new life to a village in the Rhodopes

The house is the first seed. The community is the goal.

Maybe this speaks to you. Maybe you're simply curious. Or perhaps you've been feeling for years that there must be another way.

Come Grow Something With Us

In the Rhodope Mountains of Bulgaria, at the edge of a reservoir ringed by pine forest and Revival-era stone villages, an old house is being brought back to life as a place to practice a different kind of economy — one where what you give away is what keeps the place, and the people in it, thriving.

Serviceberry House takes its name from a berry bush that flourishes by sharing its fruit freely — with birds, with neighbors, with anyone who comes looking. We're building that same principle into daily life: a garden and common store where surplus is shared instead of hoarded, a shared car, a learning program built on real skills, and a reciprocity economy meant to keep extending outward — a living arm reaching from the house into the wider region, growing as more people and places join it.

None of this is separate from where it stands. The Rhodopes reward slow attention: a reservoir a few minutes' walk from the door, one of the last stretches of untouched taiga forest left in Europe, limestone gorges tied to the myth of Orpheus, mineral hot springs, and villages that have kept their nineteenth-century character intact. There's a whole region here worth discovering, at whatever pace suits you.

And however much you want to take part, there's a place for you. Come for a week as a guest and simply see how it works — a passenger, moving through at your own pace, welcome without obligation. Or stay longer, put in the work, and help build it — a long-term participant with a hand in what this place becomes. Some people will do both, at different points in their life. Both are real ways of belonging here.

Boletes: A Gift from the Forest

Every bolete is a reminder that the forest provides with generosity—but never without asking something in return.

Finding boletes is not only about filling a basket. It is about slowing down, observing the landscape, learning the rhythms of the seasons, and recognizing the living relationships between trees, fungi, animals, and ourselves. A healthy forest shares its abundance with those who walk through it with respect.

The more we learn to notice, the more we realize that harvesting is an act of reciprocity rather than consumption.

The Honourable Harvest

Inspired by the teachings shared in The Serviceberry and Indigenous traditions of reciprocity:

- Walk with gratitude.
- Take only what you truly need.
- Harvest only where mushrooms are abundant.
- Leave the smallest, oldest, and damaged mushrooms behind.

While the beauty industry sells you the lie that you need a chemistry lab to feel clean, we built something different.

House of the Rising FUN was born from a simple truth: your body doesn't need to be covered in synthetic fragrances to be worthy. It needs freedom from:

"Fragrances" hiding 3,000 undisclosed chemicals
Synthetic perfumes masking hormonal disruptors
Shower gels that strip your skin while promising "mountain breeze"
Laundry detergents that leave toxic residues on the clothes touching your body
Plastic packaging leaching into everything you use

What you will find here:

Ingredients you can actually pronounce
Products that smell like nothing — or like real plants, not a chemical factory
Formulas that work with your body, not against it
Packaging that doesn't poison the earth or your home
The radical idea that women are not "genetically damaged" — they're systematically poisoned, and we're ready to regenerate true heath and reconnection with mother earth's gifted culture.

House of the Rising FUN isn't just a brand. It's a sanctuary where your skin can breathe, your hormones can balance, and your body can finally rest from the assault of synthetic chemicals.

You don't need 12 products to start your day. You need one that actually respects you.
