When I signed the lease for Altspace back in 2020, I genuinely thought I was opening a coworking space.

Turns out
I wasn’t.

Yes, we’ve got fast WiFi, great coffee and beautiful workspaces.

But that’s never been the thing people remember.

They remember the stranger who became their best friend.

The run they almost didn’t come to.

The Friday beer that turned into a conversation that changed everything.

The confidence to launch the business they’d been talking about for years.

The random Tuesday lunch that led to a new client, a business partner or even a relationship.

The first time they realised they didn’t have to build a life in a new country alone.

I’ve watched people arrive in Bansko saying,

“I’m only here for a month.”

Then extend.
Then extend again.
Then move here.
Then build businesses.
Then build families.
Then help the next wave of newcomers do exactly the same.

People think they’re buying a coworking membership.

They’re not.

They’re buying proximity to ambitious people.
They’re buying belonging.
They’re buying momentum.
They’re buying a version of themselves that simply didn’t exist before they walked through our doors.

The WiFi gets them in.

The people change their lives.

And that will always be our biggest flex ❀

Nobody grows up dreaming of moving to a small mountain town in Bulgaria.

Most people stumble across Bansko almost by accident.

Maybe a friend mentioned it, maybe you saw it on Instagram, maybe you booked “just a month” because the rent looked cheap and the mountains looked pretty.

But then, once you get here, you stop counting down the days until you leave.

You find your favourite coffee spot, you start recognising people in the street, you make friends from countries you’d never even visited before.

You find yourself saying yes to things you never thought you’d do
mountain hikes, run clubs, public speaking, random dinners, weird board games, Friday beers.

Slowly, without really noticing, this place starts to feel like home.

That’s why so many people arrive with an exit date
and inevitably end up changing it.

The best places aren’t always the most famous, they’re the ones that quietly change the direction of your life đŸ«¶
