Le Service Social International - Afrique de l'Ouest (SSI-AO) et la Direction de la coopération internationale (DCI) du Gouvernement Princier de Monaco ont officialisé la signature d'un mémorandum d'entente à Dakar, marquant le lancement de la deuxième phase du programme INISA – Initiatives Sahel.

Ce programme ambitionne de renforcer durablement les dynamiques locales de développement au Burkina-Faso, au Mali, au Niger et au Sénégal, en soutenant directement les acteurs de terrain grâce à des financements et un accompagnement structurant.

Les 27 et 28 mars 2026, le Service Social International Afrique de l’Ouest a pris part à la Conférence internationale « 𝗠𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗲𝘁 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝗻 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 : 𝗱𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀 é𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝘁 𝗱é𝗳𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹’𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗿 », organisée à 𝗹’𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁é 𝗚𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿 à Saint-Louis du Sénégal.
À cette occasion, le SSI-AO a présenté une communication innovante basée sur son système d’information CaseData, mettant en lumière :

Cette contribution a permis de montrer que, même en l’absence de données explicites sur le climat, les données issues de la gestion de cas révèlent des corrélations fortes entre territoires fragilisés et dynamiques de mobilité.

La participation du SSI-AO s’inscrit pleinement dans sa mission de coordination du Réseau Afrique de l’Ouest pour la protection des enfants, en contribuant :

Organized by the Permanent Bureau of the HCCH on Private International Law in collaboration with the Government of South Africa. The Regional Workshop provided a forum for States in Africa to discuss good practices in the implementation and operation of the 1993 Adoption Convention and, more broadly, in the international protection of children. Over the course of three days, participants engaged in a series of presentations and practical exercises, which enabled them to strengthen their knowledge of the Convention as well as to build ties with their counterparts in the region.

The 1993 𝘼𝙙𝙤𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 (𝙃𝙖𝙜𝙪𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙣 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘾𝙤-𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙮 𝘼𝙙𝙤𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣) serves as a critical international framework that regulates intercountry adoption. It establishes safeguards to ensure that adoptions take place in the best interests of the child while preventing abuses such as trafficking, exploitation, and improper financial gain. Central to the Convention is the principle of subsidiarity, which prioritizes efforts to keep children within their biological families or communities, and where this is not possible, promotes appropriate domestic care solutions before considering intercountry adoption.

During the workshop, Abena Yamoah, Technical Advisor, represented ISS West Africa and delivered a presentation on one of the organization’s core program areas—Alternative Care. This area is fundamental to ensuring that children grow up in , supportive, and family-based environments.

The discussions further highlighted the strong link between alternative care and the effective implementation of the Convention. Strengthening alternative care systems is essential to operationalizing the subsidiarity principle, ensuring that are provided with suitable care options within their countries before intercountry adoption is considered.

Through its participation, ISS West Africa contributed to critical reflections on strengthening protection systems while sharing practical insights and experiences from the region. The workshop also provided a valuable platform for networking, collaboration, peer learning, and advancing collective efforts to safeguard the rights and well-being of children across Africa.

De l'ébauche à la diffusion 📘✨✨

Après des mois de réflexions au niveau national et d'échanges techniques à travers l'Afrique de l'Ouest, nous convoquons cet atelier de finalisation pour consolider notre document de capitalisation sur la réintégration éducative des enfants et des jeunes migrants.

Cette étape va au-delà de l'édition. Elle se concentre sur le renforcement de la cohérence éditoriale et les positionnements du SSI-AO vis-à-vis des résultats et analyses qui reflètent de manière significative les expériences documentées . Nous réorganisons les sections clés pour améliorer la clarté et la lisibilité, nous améliorons la mise en page et la hiérarchie visuelle et nous validons collectivement une version prête à être diffusée.

Le résultat attendu est un document consolidé, formaté de manière professionnelle, enrichi d'éléments graphiques validés et finalisé dans un format adapté au partage avec les partenaires et les principales parties prenantes.

Cet atelier représente un engagement collectif en faveur de l'apprentissage, de l'appropriation institutionnelle et de l'avancement de parcours de réintégration éducative durables et adaptés au contexte pour les enfants et les jeunes migrants dans toute la région.

From 20th to 22nd October 2025, the International Social Service- WA (ISS-WA) joined ECOWAS, UNICEF, and other members of the Regional Group of Child Protection (GRPE) in Dakar, Senegal, for a 3-day high-level meeting aimed at reviewing the implementation of the ECOWAS Strategic Framework for Strengthening National Child Protection Systems designed to prevent and respond to violence, abuse, and exploitation against children in West Africa

The different sessions national directors in charge of Child Protection, regional institutions, key partners and GRPE members for this Review Meeting to assess progress, share experiences, and define priorities for safeguarding children in the region.

During the 3-day meeting, participants:
🔹 Reviewed the implementation of the ECOWAS Strategic Framework for strengthening national child protection systems.
🔹 Shared progress and good practices in preventing and responding to violence, abuse, and exploitation against children.
🔹 Discussed findings from the ECOWAS Child Rights Management System (ECRIMS) and the 2023 Regional Child Protection Report.

As a proud member of the GRPE, ISS re-affirmed its commitment to enhancing cross-border collaboration, promoting shared learning, and supporting national child protection systems to ensure that every child in West Africa is protected, empowered, and heard.

Together, we’re building a stronger foundation for a region where all children can grow up safe, valued, and free from violence.

Le Secrétariat Général ensemble avec le Service Social International Afrique de l'Ouest, SSI - AO et SSI France 116000 Enfants Disparus - Droit d'Enfance, est heureux d'annoncer la publication d'un nouvel ouvrage élaboré en collaboration avec ONG Vie Saine et avec le soutien de la Ministère de la Femme, de la Famille et de l’Enfant et Villages d'Enfants Côte d'Ivoire.

Notre document d'orientation vise à soutenir les efforts de réforme de la protection de remplacement en Côte d'Ivoire, en prenant en compte les besoins spécifiques des enfants en situation de handicap et sans soutien parental.

Élaboré de manière participative avec un panel d'acteurs nationaux, il s'adresse aux décideurs ivoiriens et à tous les acteurs clés afin que la réintégration familiale et le placement en famille d'accueil deviennent une réalité pour ces enfants.
