🌍 ShelterBox x Rotary in Burkina Faso
Fabrice, from the Rotary Club Ouaga Elite, worked closely with our team in Burkina Faso - supporting safety, access, and community engagement in some of the country’s most challenging project areas.
Drawing on his local knowledge, Fabrice helped guide field missions, advised on safe access routes, and he gave guidance on engaging with local authorities and communities, helping ensure our shelter response could be delivered safely and effectively.
“Because we are working in the affected areas and some of us are from this country, we know what advice to give. There are many more opportunities for Rotary clubs and ShelterBox to work together.”
Burkina Faso remains one of the world’s most neglected crises. Since 2019, conflict and extreme weather have forced more than 2 million people to flee their homes. Together with partners like Help - Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe Burkina Faso, and with the support of Rotary in‑country, we’ve helped tens of thousands of people with emergency shelter - including durable, locally made Sahelian tents designed to withstand extreme heat and flooding.
This partnership shows the power of local insight, global collaboration, and shared compassion.
Thank you to Fabrice and our Rotary International partners for helping make a meaningful difference to people's lives in Burkina Faso and around the world.
