The 'Flanders International Rally Challenge’ is a Belgian championship... for non-Belgian teams only, organized over several Flemish and Walloon rallies, all situated in the coastal area of Belgium (Flanders) and close to the French border (Wallonia). They run on typical country roads : narrow, very fast and technical, 95 to 100% tarmac...
All rallies have a similar structure: Saturday for signing on, free recce and scrutineering, stage action on Sunday, finishing around 6pm. With plenty of accomodation available, cheap entry fees, a very warm welcome and a general party atmosphere, the concept was a direct hit, mainly with UK and Irish teams.
