It goes without saying that this project, meant to highlight the versatility and working abilities of the Cane Corso - and the people who preserve and maximize them - was close to my heart ❤️

End of March, Belgian Cane Corso Club closed the books officially and definitively. The proposal to dissolve the association came from founder/president Katja Chtuka, followed by a majority of the Board and later by the members of the General Assembly.

Reason for the proposal was the lack of confidence in the continuation of the association while maintaining its priorities and striving for the objectives for which it was founded in 2016 - in the knowledge that 2023 would be the last year for some of BCCC’s cornerstones, including its chairman.

Setting the bar high from the start has led to many successes over the years 🔥 Forward-thinking and challenged by new ideas, BCCC was the first association to organize the official CAL2 test outside Italy, offered DSRA testing onsite and favored education above rules & regulations.

Through the years, by organizing raffles and webinars, Belgian Cane Corso Club collected more than 4500 € that was donated to epilepsy research, cancer research and the Cane Corso Pedigree Database 🤝 With the dissolution of the club, another remaining 4500 € will be donated to epilepsy research (University Utrecht, NL). And with this, the circle is complete 💗

As founder and (ex-) president, I would like to express my gratitude to the people involved in making of BCCC such a success story: the colleague Board members that gave effort, the members for their trust and support, the participants, sponsors and the long list of honorable judges/breeders. But most of all, to the fantastic crew of volunteers, whose help and enthusiasm resulted into many memorable events 🙏

This time we shed a light on the experience and vision of a person who can rely on extensive experience with our breed as trainer and decoy:

ENCI certified Cynological Instructor and Decoy - Being active since 2014 in training center 'I Corsi di Gaia e Giulia', he has led many Cane Corso and their owners to working trials and tests.

A big thank you to all who attended yesterday the final part of "Corso Talk: The breed inside out", and to all who subscribed to get the recording 🤩

We enjoyed this wonderful journey from first to last and I hope y'all feel the same about it. Now that it's done I realize that I will miss our meetings, united by the common passion for our breed 🌎 Thanks to all for the interest and appreciation 🙏

The participation fees of the webinars were donated to Canine Cancer Alliance and the research on epilepsy. For the last webinar, the fees will go to the maintenance and extension of the Cane Corso Pedigree database.
