Hosted at Uganda Technical College (UTC) Lira, the closing event brought together 129 participants, including representatives from solar companies, ministries, development partners, city leaders, and vocational training institutes and technical colleges.

Aligned with the Climate and Energy goals, the project focuses on training people to work for more affordable and reliable energy access, supporting the EU's commitment to climate neutrality and global net-zero carbon emissions, and providing skills that are relevant to current and future investments in the sector. 🌐

Key achievements include:
・101 beneficiaries skilled in Solar Photovoltaic systems and Advanced Operation and Maintenance of mini-grids, with 38% women and 47% youth.
・346 beneficiaries, including 42% females, trained in business and technical skills for the Productive Use of Electricity.
・31 trainers, including 38% women, empowered with advanced skills to shape the next generation of solar experts.
・6 VET centres equipped with state-of-the-art training tools.

Congratulations to the GIZ-Uganda team for their dedicated work on this initiative! 🌞

And, of course, a big round of applause for the entire VET Toolbox Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH teams: this project was the last one to wrap up among all GIZ projects under the VET Toolbox programme! 👏
