Op 9 en 10 juli verwelkomen onze VAF-collega's opnieuw Dr. Angus Finney in België voor een hands-on workshop rond de inzet van artificiële intelligentie in het creatieve proces. Deze training is intensief, praktisch en gebaseerd op echte workflows en besluitvormingsscenario's.

“In terms of production value, we’ve gone to a higher level, but we’ve stayed close to Lukas’s cinema, which is very intimate and character-driven.”
Producer Michiel Dhont of The Reunion talks about Lukas Dhont's 𝘾𝙤𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙, which premieres in competition at the 2026 Festival de Cannes.

From the outset, the goal was to film as much of the film as possible in Belgium, in which support from the cultural and regional economic funds was crucial.

"It was really important for me, for this project, and for Lukas to keep it close to home. Because it is about Belgium’s First World War, it had a significance to shoot on the soil where it all happened."

De Screen Flanders-gesteunde film 𝘊𝘰𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥, de derde speelfilm van Lukas Dhont, is uitgenodigd voor de Officiële Competitie van het Festival van Cannes (12 - 23 mei).

In 𝘊𝘰𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 staat het verhaal van Pierre centraal, een jonge Belgische soldaat tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog die zich wil bewijzen. Aan het front ontmoet hij Francis, die de opdracht heeft gekregen een manier te vinden om de moraal op te krikken.

The Screen Flanders supported film 𝘊𝘰𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥, Lukas Dhont's third feature, has been selected for the Official Competition at the Cannes Film Festival (12 - 23 May).

𝘊𝘰𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 tells the story of Pierre, a young Belgian soldier who wants to prove himself on the battlefield during the First World War. Behind the frontlines, he meets Francis, who is asked to find a way to boost morale.
