IMA Belgium - International Management Assistants network

IMA aims to be the recognized voice of our profession, creating an image of the management assistant as an integral part of the management team.

International Management Assistants (IMA) is an international quality network of management support professionals who focus on their personal development and on the future of their profession. IMA Belgium on a mission: we encourage continuous personal development of our members and strive to remain ahead of the latest professional evolution by providing opportunities for training, cross-cultural r

elationships, exchange of ideas and international meetings with peers. The association is a non-profit organisation, which has no political aims and will not engage in political or trade union activities. IMA Belgium organises monthly meetings about business related topics or burning subjects, and offers training by experts. Those activities allow our members to adapt to developments in our profession and learn from both guest speakers and other members. The ongoing challenge is to make IMA Belgium visible throughout the professional landscape and to reach assistants in different industries. IMA Belgium as competence centre paves the way for and helps create a promising professional future for its members.

🏨✨ A heartfelt thank you to Radisson Collection, The National Hotel ✨🏨

Last week, we had the pleasure of kicking off our new IMA Belgium season with our annual Summer Drink at the gorgeous Radisson Collection, The National Hotel.

A very special thank you to Gillis Passenier and Loic Remy for welcoming us so warmly and helping us create another Summer Drink to remember. 🥂💙

Having opened its doors only a year ago, the hotel is a true hidden gem on the outskirts of Brussels. From the beautiful architecture to the contemporary interiors and warm atmosphere, it's a place that manages to feel impressive and welcoming at the same time.

It provided the perfect backdrop for an evening of reconnecting, networking, and enjoying each other's company after the summer break.

Thank you to Gillis, Loic, and the entire team for your wonderful hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed discovering your beautiful hotel — and we're sure this won't be our last visit!

Summer may be coming to an end, but there is plenty to look forward to at IMA Belgium! We have an exciting fall programme ahead, filled with learning, networking, and opportunities to grow together.

Here’s what’s coming up:

📅 15 September – Cybersecurity: Staying Safe in an Age of Deepfakes and Scams 🔐
Together with Clarence Pinto at Moxy Hotel Brussels, we’ll dive into the world of deepfakes, scams, and cybersecurity and learn how to better protect ourselves in an increasingly complex digital landscape.

📅 8 October – Clarity in the AI Jungle 🤖
Tom Ysewyn will join us at The Hotel Brussels to help us navigate the ever-expanding world of AI and bring some much-needed clarity to the jungle.

📅 19 November – Presentation Skills 🎤
At Mövenpick Airport Hotel, Stefanie Van Moen will help us sharpen an essential professional skill: presenting and communicating with confidence and impact.

📅 10 December – Christmas Celebration 🎄
And, of course, we’ll end another wonderful IMA year together with our festive Christmas Celebration at Play Media in Vilvoorde.

Four events, four very different experiences, and plenty of opportunities to learn, connect, and be inspired before we close out 2026.

With AI-generated deepfakes and increasingly sophisticated scams making headlines, how can we recognise when someone is trying to deceive us — before it's too late?

🎤 Clarence Pinto, co-founder of Guardiant Cyberdefense and cybersecurity expert, will guide us through the rapidly evolving world of deepfakes, scams and online fraud.

Through real-world examples, live polls and an interactive discussion, we'll discover how today's scammers exploit trust and human nature — and, most importantly, what we can do to protect ourselves and our organisations.

🍽️✨ Behind the scenes: already planning for 2027! ✨🍽️

While our 2026 season is still in full swing, we’re already looking ahead and working on what IMA Belgium 2027 could bring!

We recently sat down for lunch with our wonderful Venue Coordinator, Sabrina Franchini, to brainstorm locations and ideas for next year’s monthly events. Because we know that an inspiring event deserves an equally inspiring setting. 📍

Sabrina is a true IMA legacy. Over the years, she has held mandates within both the IMA Belgium National Committee and the IMA Global Executive Committee, and we’re incredibly grateful that she continues to share her experience and network with us.

And when it comes to finding the perfect venues, she truly shines! ✨

Of course, the meeting was also a great opportunity to catch up, exchange ideas, and start dreaming about the experiences we want to create for our members next year.

☀️⏳ The countdown to our Summer Drink is on! ⏳☀️

The holidays may still be in full swing, but we're already looking forward to one of our favourite traditions of the year!

On 27 August, we'll reunite at the beautiful Radisson Collection, The National Hotel to officially kick off a brand-new IMA Belgium season.

Our Summer Drink is always the event where everyone comes back together after the summer break. It's the perfect opportunity to catch up with familiar faces, welcome new members, exchange holiday stories, and get excited about everything the new season has in store.

✨ We'll also be joined by Gino Bauwens, who will give us a short presentation on Murder Dinners—a fun and original idea for your next team-building activity or company event.
