Social Economy Europe

Social Economy Europe is the EU-level representative institution for the social economy. SEE was set up in November 2000, under the name of CEP-CMAF.

Social Economy Europe (SEE) is the EU level representative institution for the social economy. We aim to promote the social and economic input of the social economy enterprises and organisations, to promote the role and values of social economy actors in Europe and to reinforce the political and legal recognition of the social economy and of cooperatives, mutual societies, associations and foundations (CMAF) at EU level.

👀 Why does Sweden still lack a national strategy for the social economy?

👉 Politicians from three Swedish regions and the City of Östersund, representing different parties (Green Party, Social Democrats, Christian Democrats and Centre Party), are calling on the current and future Swedish government to develop a national strategy for the social economy.

👉 They also highlight the importance of ensuring a strong role for local and regional authorities in the framework of the future EU Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF).

💬 As they write:

"The climate transition must be implemented. The skills shortage is growing. Demographic changes are placing new demands on the welfare system. At the same time, the need for social cohesion, local development, democratic participation, and strengthened preparedness is increasing.

🏘️ The European Parliament published a new study on housing speculation and the financialisation of housing across the EU.
