inciple of solidarity and responsibility, the autonomous management and the sustainable use of most of surpluses". Reves members are those local authorities or social economy organisation that are presently developing or are willing to develop policies to promote social and solidarity based economy, for a most fair, inclusive, participative and responsible society; a network of social innovation in terms both of methods and procedures based on co-construction and shared capacities of the members and their territories.

REVES is proud to be part of the E-LoCUM partnership and to contribute to the organisation of the project’s final conference!

📍 Brussels | 29 January 2026

The Final Conference of the E-Locum - Local Compacts of the United Mates of Europe project will bring together young people, youth workers, civil society organisations and institutional actors to reflect on how migration is discussed, represented and shaped in Europe.

The event will focus on the role of youth in creating more inclusive and responsible narratives on migration, drawing on experiences and media projects developed within the E-LoCUM project across Italy, Slovenia, Romania and Greece. Participants will also engage with concrete proposals and commitments addressed to media actors, education institutions, youth organisations, and local public authorities.

The conference will also feature contributions from MEP Brando Benifei Prof. Johan Leman (Foyer vzw and the Migratie Museum Migration BXL) and Ms Eve Hounhanou (Project Officer at Le Monde des Possibles, Liège), whose perspectives will enrich the discussion and exchange.

The conference will conclude with the presentation of the E-LoCUM Multilateral Youth Compact, highlighting how different sectors can work together with young people to strengthen democratic participation and civic engagement around migration issues.

Within the E-Locum - Local Compacts of the United Mates of Europe project, the Multilateral Youth Workshop on Migration that will kick-off tomorrow in , will be a collaborative event dedicated to co-creating a shared vision and building the Multilateral Youth Compact on Migration.
After months of collaboration across Greece, Italy, Slovenia, Romania and beyond, young representatives are about to take the next step!
This moment marks the culmination of a process that empowered youth to be active citizens, bridge cultural perspectives, and shape unbiased, forward-looking narratives on migration.

We, as part of the E-LoCUM Consortium, believe that when young people lead the conversation, democratic change can begin 💬✨

The final session of the B.Right Spaces webinar series will take place tomorrow, 6 June, at 10:00 (CET).

🔎So far, we have gathered testimonies, insights, creative ideas and pioneering projects about how democratic values and practices can be upheld, protected and promoted through bottom-up initiatives, with stable support from public authorities and advanced legal framework.

💡In the final webinar, we will hear from public authorities. Cities, metropolitan areas and regions are the administrative entities closest to citizens, able to identify demands, needs and assets, and transform them into stable policies for growth, equality and justice.

The Social Economy: Europe's Resilience Engine Under Threat

On 1 May, DG GROW will dismantle its Social Economy Unit — a decision that puts at risk a crucial driver of Europe’s competitiveness, industrial autonomy, prosperity and resilience.

Social Economy organisations employ over 11 million people, generate €1 trillion in turnover, and are essential to local development, the green transition and democratic values. Our democratic, people-first model is exactly what Europe needs in times of crisis.

Removing dedicated support at DG GROW weakens the EU’s ability to build a sustainable, inclusive, and competitive economy. Now more than ever, we need policies that integrate economic, social and environmental goals.

🌍 When fundamental pillars fall, communities bear the weight. Let’s stand together for a strong Social Economy in Europe. Let’s stand for an economy that works for people and the planet.

FROM PRINCIPLES TO PRACTICE: RIGHTS AS LIVED EXPERIENCES…

We introduce you to a new ‘chapter’ of the CERV project B.Right Spaces – Better Rights in Better Civic Spaces!
With the research phase now complete and our latest report on local experiences almost ready for dissemination, we are launching Step 2: Learn and Network - and we would like you to be part of it. 💬
Under the theme “Pathways for Mutual Learning – Transnational Level”, we are kicking off a series of transnational “Morning Coffee” webinars designed to enrich local conversations about the features, relevance and impact of civic spaces with broader European reflections.
✨ These webinars aim to shift the conversation:

➡️ To rights as real, lived experiences

Whether it is access to care, housing, education or other ‘families’ of rights, how citizens experience them often depends on local solutions and local configurations of responsibilities.

🎭 EMERGE: A Space for artistic exploration and civic engagement 🎨

Our B.Right Spaces study visit in Torres Vedras continues, with the EMERGE cultural association.

EMERGE fosters artistic creation, community engagement, and meaningful collaborations.
Through residencies, training, exhibitions, and workshops with artists from Portugal and abroad, EMERGE offers a unique platform for both emerging and established artists to experiment, take risks, and grow.

🏛️ : A safe space for artistic freedom
At the heart of EMERGE’s activities is , a public space provided by the Torres Vedras CM, free from commercial constraints. Here, artists find a safe space to create, make mistakes, and innovate, without the pressure of immediate market success. The Casa Azul is open to everyone, with activities reaching beyond the walls of the association.
Whether it is sharing knowledge, engaging with local associations, or providing access to resources, EMERGE’s reach continues to expand and connect with citizens across the city and beyond.

📖 The PEA – Portuguese Emerging Artists
One of EMERGE’s flagship projects is ( ), a publication that showcases artists at a critical point in their careers, where they can either rise to prominence or risk fading into obscurity. This initiative is not just a showcase but a valuable tool for galleries, collectors, and cultural institutions to discover and support talent.

🌍 International outreach and strong networks
EMERGE operates on a global scale, with an open call for artists promoted by embassies worldwide. Submissions are assessed by three independent jurors, ensuring a fair and diverse selection process. The association also plays a key role in education and cultural programming, partnering with institutions like the National Museum of Contemporary Art to design and implement art education initiatives.

💡 Public policy and sustainable funding
The Torres Vedras CM recognises the importance of arts and culture by integrating them into public policy and securing direct funding. While municipal support covers part of the budget, EMERGE also secures resources from the Ministry of Culture, the Foundation, private sponsors, and international partnerships.

🧑‍🎨 Art, society and inclusion
Beyond supporting individual artists, EMERGE actively engages with the local community. The association collaborates with local cultural groups, social organisations, and even mental health initiatives, ensuring that art is accessible, inclusive, and transformative. Whether working with women’s collectives, elderly groups creating textile art, or young students developing projects from concept to exhibition, EMERGE fosters social intersections through creative expression.

🌍 Exploring Civic Spaces Through Arts & Culture in Torres Vedras ✨

In the framework of our B.Right Spaces project, we are taken to reflect on the role of arts and culture as boosters of civic participation.
Our study visit in has highlighted the vital role of and as catalysts for civic participation and democratic engagement. Public spaces are more than just physical locations - they are the heart of community life, where creativity, dialogue, and collective action shape the way we experience our cities.

Through immersive experiences in dance, theatre, and contemporary performance, we have witnessed how artistic expression can empower citizens, transform urban spaces, and inspire a deeper sense of belonging.
The Ilu Dança-teatro and the Performact experiences are a living testimony of this!
When cultural initiatives activate public spaces, they become places of exchange, reflection, and shared identity, where diverse voices can come together to imagine and co-create a better, more sustainable future.

🎭 Arts as a Tool for Engagement
By integrating artistic practices into the urban fabric, communities are encouraged to reclaim and re-imagine their surroundings. Whether through street performances, interactive installations, or participatory workshops, the arts invite people to engage with their environment in new and meaningful ways. These experiences not only enrich cultural life but also strengthen social ties, foster active citizenship, and create spaces for democratic dialogue.
