The Constellation

The Constellation The Constellation, a non-for-profit organisation, is serving a worldwide network of individuals, groups, communities and organisations.

The Constellation connects those groups to learn and share about local experience, and for mutual support. From Merauke to Mombasa and from Bujumbura to Brussels, we are rediscovering community strengths: the human capacity for care and change, for community belonging, for leadership, for sharing who we are and what we know.We look for strengths. Our energy for change comes from our regular immers

ion into community experience,at home and elsewhere. By asking appreciative questions, we discover and reveal strengths which communities themselves might not realize. We in turn are inspired to transfer the experience into our own contexts: at work, in our social and family lives. Sarzah Yeasmin (M.Ed, Harvard University), a researcher in education policy and community-led learning, shared the story of Pahariapara Agamir School at the First Decolonizing Law Conference in Bangladesh. Drawing on the SALT approach, the session explored how communities can be recognised as partners and producers of knowledge, challenging conventional assumptions about education and contributing to conversations on decolonising learning. We will become a lighthouse of hope.

That's the dream the people of Lola Lokaal 432 in Amsterdam agreed on, after coming together to name their strengths and get to know each other on a deeper level.

Their goal: put their talents to work for their neighborhood and the next generation.

Next, they'll take small, doable steps, with the Constellations coaching team by their side, building toward a celebration this November. 🎉

Follow along to see how it goes.

On this International Day of Yoga, we are reminded of communities we worked with through Medtronic Philanthropy. When community members themselves decided that yoga could improve their health and well-being, it became their own initiative.

Even during COVID, community members continued practising yoga and sustained the practice because they had chosen it for themselves.
