Our Women's Committee members had the honour to be hosted in Poland🇵🇱 by the Krajowa Rada Izb Rolniczych women's board for two days on intensive exchange on challenges faced by women farmers, to talk about key issues such as access to finance and land, education & skills, as well as on the importance of representation in farmers organisations👩‍🌾
They had the chance to visit two women farmers, running small farms focused on adding value to their production and enriching local communities.🧀🥕
Copa Cogeca also presented to local actors their involvement and key objectives and outcomes of two EU projects GRASS CEILING
& GAEA EU Project 👈

👏Copa and Cogeca hail European Parliament Environment Committee adoption of provisional NGT deal and urge final plenary endorsement

Copa and Cogeca salute today’s decisive vote in the COM ENVI, adopting the provisional agreement on .
🇪🇺farming communities would like to thank the rapporteur Jessica Polfjärd, the shadows and the Members of the Committee for the broad adoption of this text.

It is a new step towards a clear, science-based EU framework that enables farmers to access innovation and remain productive, sustainable and competitive.

It was 2️⃣ intensive and productive days at the Praesidium of COPA and COGECA, where all aspects of the upcoming discussion in the European Parliament on the new CAP were thoroughly addressed.
We engaged with 3️⃣ MEPs Rapporteur on key files for the future of the CAP/MFF: MEP Elsi Katainen on the NRPP, MEP Norbert Lins on CAP and MEP Eric Sargiacomo on CMO.
⚠️ COPA COGECA members confirmed the unacceptable nature of the 16 July proposal and stressed the need to ensure a strong, common and individualised CAP with a budget adapted to inflation
👍 We found MEPs who were attentive, aware of on-the-ground realities, and committed to bringing ambition, stability and coherence to the Commission’s proposal. COPA COGECA assured them of its full support and will actively contribute to the crucial debates in the year ahead.
🧭 Now is the moment to provide solutions for our farming community, which is strategic for the European project, food security, and competitiveness!

The European Commission /hashtag proposals are unacceptable for EU farmers.
For months we’ve warned about red lines not to cross 🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥
On 16 July, the Commission crossed at least 🔟 common sense red lines of EU farming policies- putting food security of 450M Europeans and the Single Market at risk.
For the first time in +60 years of engagement in agricultural policy, we, the European farming organisations, find these proposals unacceptable and cannot endorse them.
MEPs & Member States must not allow these flawed proposals to be forced through.
Co-legislators, don’t accept the unacceptable !
