Ghost Frequency EP037 - SITE SPECIFICS 2022: Into the Thin Air 🔊
For this episode we are following a sonic journey of SITE SPECIFICS 2022: Into the Thin Air workshop took place at Klankenbos, a sound forest located in the border of the Netherlands and Belgium.
The week-long workshop dove into the air that we breathe and live in through the materiality of sound by making listening exercises and collecting field recordings the surrounding environment of Klankenbos, where man-made sonic objects and natural environmental sound coincidences. Led by Mint Park, students from and selected young artists from made field recordings and listening exercises to explore the emergent and generative forms within the intricate relationship of sound and space that comes from the practice of listening. Also in parallel and they also learned about Spatio-temporal DSP techniques based on repetition and made textural compositions to reflect this digitally.
