Why does Itinera do what it does?
Because good policy does not happen by itself. And leaders in the broad sense of the word deserve inspiration, expertise and sparring.

Major societal challenges require more than quick analysis or easy slogans. They require independent research, critical thinking and the willingness to turn ideas into concrete solutions.
That is what Itinera has been doing since 2006.

As an independent think-and-do tank, we bring together experts, entrepreneurs, civil society and policymakers. We examine what can be improved, develop policy recommendations and build bridges between knowledge and action.

Today, we focus on three clusters of major challenges for Belgium and Europe:
• a resilient society
• prosperity and welfare
• better governance

With one ambition: to contribute to lasting prosperity and well-being, today and for generations to come.

Want to read something interesting this summer? Head to our website to discover Julien De Wit’s latest inspiration document on how to make our society more resilient.

‘Becoming a more resilient society does not require policy measures alone; It also requires a kind of meta narrative that binds society together. I hope with the paper can provide both.’

The paper Itinera launches today is based on Julien’s recent book De Comeback Code (Ertsberg, 2026).

We look back on a splendid edition of our Itinera Summer Academy. Imagine being brought up to speed on today’s most pressing societal challenges while having the opportunity to debate solutions with peers.

That is what the Itinera Summer Academy was all about.

On the first day, our Summer Academy alumni attended Love Tomorrow, where our fellow Julien delivered a keynote to a broad audience. On the festival grounds, Itinera also hosted a Greenhouse where young leaders could network and brainstorm.

The second day was all about knowledge. Our fellows delivered presentations and workshops on geopolitics, economics, resilience, housing and democracy.

Yesterday, Itinera was present at the Love Tomorrow Summit.
Our Senior Fellow, Julien De Wit, took to the Core Stage to deliver a keynote on resilience that caught the interest of a large audience.
Meanwhile, at the In4Care Community Health Village, our Itinera House welcomed visitors for conversations on public policy and the challenges shaping tomorrow.
It sparked many engaging discussions and inspiring exchanges.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by.

Coming to the Summit tomorrow? Of course you are! And we are as well.

🌟 Our 5 tips to make it unforgettable;

💡 TIP 1: Start the day with energy of a breakfast rave from 09.45 – 10.30 @ the Health Village. Skip the morning traffic on site, come early and start the day dancing.

🗣️ TIP 2: From music to words: for the best keynotes before lunch you will find us at the Core Stage. And if you are running late, be sure to be there at 11.55 for fellow Julien De Wit’s talk!

🕐 10.30 – 10.45 | Jeoffrey Schouten – Alcohol: Friend or Foe?
🕐 10.45 – 10.55 | Robin Ibens – No One Should Have to Heal Far from Family
🕐 10.55 – 11.05 | Jan Tuellingkx & Tom Teulingkx – Everyone Can Save a Life
🕐 11.05 – 11.20 | Bart Haex – HealthTech Needs Us
🕐 11.25 – 11.40 | – Fear of Being Obsolete
🕐 11.40 – 11.55 | Nirit Pilosof – Healthcare Without Walls
🕐 11.55 – 12.10 | – The Comeback Code

🤝 TIP 3: bring a visit to our Greenhouse in the Health village. We’re really looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible and hear what you would like to change if you were a policy maker. Between 14.00 – 14.30, join us at the In4Care/Itinera table with Ank De Wilde, Julien De Wit and Marc De Vos for a meet the speaker and discussion on how to create that better tomorrow together. An open conversation anyone can join.

TIP 4: lose yourself in between the many stages & inspiring keynotes by following that connection you bumped into. And then another. Because after all, loosing your way is still a way here.

🎶 TIP 5: Definitely make sure to close the day dancing with the symphony of unity.

Our co-CEO Marc De Vos recently spoke at the EU’s Annual EU
Budget Conference.

“There is no single person in Europe who thinks they can do it without Europe. [..] There is room for growth - there is even room for a quantum leap. We have to become more creative, more daring or we will not be competitive.”

In just 28 days, Itinera will be at the Love Tomorrow Summit.

We partnered with In4Care Community and Love Tomorrow because we share the same ambition: to inspire people and bring fresh ideas to societal debates that too often become rigid and entrenched.

There are those who talk about change, and those who make it happen.

We know that you, as a supporter or partner of Itinera, belong to the latter.

That is why we warmly invite you to visit the Itinera Greenhouse at Love Tomorrow. Join us for inspiring conversations with our experts and team, exchange ideas, and help us nurture the seeds of change together.

We look forward to seeing you there. Because at Itinera, we inspire leaders. 🌱
