Big announcement 💚 : We’re very happy to receive the support of Regen Trust to bring the Podocarpus-El Cóndor Corridor to life in one of the world’s most biodiverse places.

Regen Trust is granting us 131,000 EUR to strengthen the governance of the 70,000 ha Palanda Municipal Conservation Area, a buffer currently missing to link Podocarpus and Yacurí National Parks with the Cerro Plateado Biological Reserve.

The Project will focus on a.o.

- Building a governance alliance so the municipality, residents and partner organizations can jointly manage the ACMUS
- Training rangers, running coordinated patrols and biodiversity monitoring across the corridor
- Designing a regionally adapted agroforestry model with local farmers to ease pressure on surrounding forests.

Follow us to follow the progress of this project with a massive impact on biodiversity, our climate and the resilience of five local communities at the frontline of deforestation.

We need your help to save coral 🪸, urgently. Here’s what’s happening:

In Candidasa, East Bali, a large coastal infrastructure project is built along a 3km stretch of coastline. The goal is to fight erosion and restore beaches that locals and tourism depend on.

Part of that construction is happening directly over one of Bali’s most vital reef ecosystems: they are destroying corals that took decades to grow.

Together with our local partner .foundation, we are actively trying to rescue as much coral as possible. We save them by planting the destroyed coral on our nurseries again 💚

We know this works because we’ve done it before. But we need your support to plant those nurseries and save Candidasa coral. The time to act is now because our window to save them is closing fast. Let’s go!

With offices in Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany, it’s important to make sure we stay aligned around our long-term vision. So this week, the founders and board members of all Habitats chapters came to Belgium for a day full of exciting project updates and plans.

We’re proud of our achievements so far and are very excited about everything that’s coming next. Stay tuned for some big updates soon.
