School exchange programs open doors for children to learn from one another and experience cultures far beyond their own.
Students from Qurus Secondary School in Karatu, Tanzania, connected with students from Sint Joris Weert Primary School in Belgium. They were sharing daily life experiences that highlighted both differences and common values. While students from Qurus were fascinated by the use of technology in Belgian classrooms, including computers and smart boards, students from Belgium gained a new perspective on resilience-learning that their peers walk long distances to school, learn using chalkboards, and carry out daily tasks like washing clothes by hand, fetch water, using fire woods to cook.
These exchanges go beyond learning, they build understanding, empathy, and global connection among the next generation.
