For Czech lifesaver Václav Horák, the Lifesaving World Championships 2026 will be a particularly special experience, with the third-year Youth Czech Lifesaving Team member set to compete on familiar beaches in South Africa.

Although proudly representing Czechia, Horák spends much of his time in South Africa, where he trains with Woodridge College Lifesaving Club near Port Elizabeth.

The Australian and Polish Youth Men's relay teams traded victories at the Lifesaving World Championships 2024 — Australia took the 4x25m Manikin Relay, while Poland won the 4x50m Obstacle Relay and capped it with a world record.

📢 Save the Date: World Conference on Drowning Prevention 2027

The International Life Saving Federation is delighted to announce that WCDP 2027 will take place in Rome, Italy, from 26-28 November 2027.

We are excited to welcome delegates to the beautiful and historic city of Rome for the next edition of this important global event, hosted by FIN - Sezione Salvamento, the lifesaving section of Federazione Italiana Nuoto.

More information on the conference, including registration details, programme updates and accommodation information, will be available in the coming weeks.

For American lifesaver Konner Knarr, selection for the Lifesaving World Championships 2026 is another step in a competitive lifesaving journey that began just four years ago.

Knarr joined the Rehoboth Beach Patrol as a lifeguard in 2022 and was introduced to lifesaving competition that same summer. Since then, Knarr has rocketed to the top of the beach sprint events. At the same time his competition team, Sussex County (Delaware) Lifesaving Team won their first United State Team Championship in 2024 and have now won three team titles in a row.
