We live in the most connected age in human history. Our climates are entangled, our histories are shared, our devices link us to millions, and yet, somehow, we feel disconnected from each other and disempowered by what happens around us.
The world is shifting beneath our feet. The ties that once held us together feel loose.
What does it mean to be truly connected?

Does your climate message actually land — or just talk to the people who already agree with you? 🌍

Most communication about climate ends up reaching the same crowd: the people who nodded along before you even opened your mouth. The real question is what happens outside that circle.

On 10 September, join Natalie Schroyens (analyst at the Climate Opinion Research Exchange) for a hands-on session on message testing — a research method that shows you which narratives, frames and words actually resonate with the audiences you’re trying to reach, and which ones quietly fall flat or backfire.

You’ll walk away with:
✅ A clear grasp of how message testing works, and why it matters
✅ Real examples from recent research — what lands, what doesn’t, and with who
✅ A first framework to test your own campaigns and communications

And yes — it’s completely free.🎉

What if difference isn’t something we need to overcome, but something we need to learn to live with? Anthropologist Farhan Samanani explores why we increasingly retreat into like-minded communities – and what it takes to reconnect across our divides.

Drawing on research and stories from around the world, he offers a fresh perspective on building trust, healthy communities and genuine common ground. Can we learn to disagree without losing our ability to belong together?

What if the people rejecting the way we live today are actually showing us possible futures?

Jamie Bartlett takes us inside the strange, fascinating world of radicals – from techno-utopians and environmentalists to anarchists, fundamentalists and neo-Luddites.

Behind these seemingly extreme movements, he finds a deeper dissatisfaction with modern society. Are radicals warning us about where we’re heading – or showing us where we could go?

What would it take to repair the inequalities created by centuries of racism, colonialism and exploitation? Writer and activist Esuantsiwa Jane Goldsmith explores reparations through feminist anti-racist and decolonial thinking – and asks what genuine repair could look like.
Drawing on a lifetime of activism, personal experience and her memoir The Space Between Black and White, she connects history, identity and justice to a more peaceful and equitable future. Can reparations help us imagine a different world?
