Meet Andriana Takić, this year’s Artistic Mentor at Ethno Uganda. Running from 16th August - 31st August 2026.

Andriana is a singer, multi-instrumentalist, educator, and passionate explorer of musical traditions from around the world. Coming from a classical music background but deeply connected to folk and community music practices, she loves creating spaces where people can meet and connect through music.

Over the years, she has taken part in many international cultural exchange and folk music projects, exploring different styles, vocal techniques, rhythms, and collective music-making traditions. Other that being a performer, she enjoys working with groups and guiding creative collective processes.

Andriana first came to Uganda two years ago through Ethno, and the experience became deeply meaningful and life-changing for her. Since then, she has carried a strong love for Ugandan culture, people, and musical energy, and she is very excited to return this year in the role of Artistic Mentor.

At Ethno Uganda, she will support participants in building arrangements together, strengthening musical confidence and communication, and creating a space where different cultures can meet, coexist, and inspire one another through sharing their musical traditions, stories, and identities.

Ethno Uganda Music Camp 2026 applications are still open. It’s an international gathering for young musicians who would like to explore the traditional, folk, and world music sounds around the world. Previously, we have hosted musicians from Uganda, Malawi, Mozambique, Comoros, United States of America, India, Zimbabwe, Croatia, Denmark, Cameroon, Zambia and Burundi.

The camp provides a unique platform for likeminded young people around the world to meet and engage through music with respect, generosity, and openness. Through the peer-to-peer learning approach, the musicians create music, learn about their cultures, the annual mobility grants, their respective local music scenes, and lastly, learn about the indigenous instruments.

It was great linking up with Mátyás Egervári in Belgium. It has always been a pleasure having him on board as an artistic mentor for the annual Ethno Uganda camp by BAYIMBA Foundation. He is a Hungarian musician, composer, and songwriter. He’s the founder and festival director of the World Music Festival, Boglart, which he has been running for five years. He’s also part of the JMI Ethno Program as one of the organizers of Ethno Hungary.

🔓 What if a hit song or a streaming catalogue could be your bank collateral?

In Uganda, a new platform — IPScore — is transforming creative work into credit‑worthy assets. In his latest article, Ssentongo Patrick Kibira walks us through how IPScore uses verified royalty, distribution and streaming data to generate credit scores for artists — finally making creative income visible and financeable.

💡 For too long, the creative industries have been excluded from formal banking and investment. IPScore could change that.
