Reminder to join us for the Artist Talk tommorow with Stijn Cole and Louis De Mey.

📅 Tomorrow
🕑 Artist Talk starts at 14:00
🥂 Feel free to arrive a little earlier for a drink and an opportunity to catch up before the conversation begins.
Louis De Mey, independent art critic and freelance art writer, will be in conversation with Stijn Cole about the themes at the heart of POV: how landscapes are not fixed realities but perspectives shaped by presence, memory, timing, and observation. Together, they will explore how Cole’s work transforms personal encounters with places into universal reflections on change, recognition, and the traces we leave behind through experience and documentation.
We look forward to welcoming you for this special closing event. ✨

On view until May 31st 2026 at

“The exhibition’s namesake work, titled POV (Point of View), is a selection of images that were not taken by Cole, but were found by him. Presumably from the 1980s, the collection of old dia photographs depicts landscapes across mainly France and Belgium, locations that the artist also frequently visited; hence why he was able to identify them. Recognition thus becomes an encounter across time rather than an act of authorship. A special emotional connection that stems from the memories of the past is being shown through the eyes of an unknown stranger, years apart.”

Save the date! Opening on 15 May 2026: “POV” by Stijn Cole

Landscape, when it serves as the starting point of a creative concept, proves to be generous subject matter, revealing a peculiar dynamic between the depicted place and person situated within it. It’s one of the few instances in which an artist, an observer, faces such an all-encompassing force that they have no other choice but to become the tool of composition and comprehension itself. This comes in the form of the timing and positioning of their own physical presence. A landscape should not be understood as nature itself, but as a situated perspective, a partial revelation conditioned by a viewpoint.

Open on Saturday & Sunday from 14:00 - 18:00, until May 31st, and 7/7 by appointment.

Artist Focus: Shervin/e Sheikh Rezaei

In Leakage, upside-down wine glasses hang suspended, slowly dripping as if bleeding out. The red traces evoke the female cycle while also suggesting sacrifice, slaughter, and the quiet surrender of life. The glasses are tied to white fabric strips reminiscent of horse tails, soft symbols of beauty, labor, and movement.
The installation explores the tension between intimacy and ritual. Fragile glass contrasts with rough textile; the stained vessels hint at wine, blood, or milk - fluids tied to femininity, vitality, and offering across cultures. Leakage becomes a bodily, quiet work about exhaustion, surrender, and the slow seepage of what remains.

Artist Focus: Mounira Al Solh

Sama’/Ma’as is a series of double-sided patchworks crafted from curtains and textiles commonly used in Beirut to shield homes from the sun and neighbors’ gaze. Each piece features two three-letter Arabic root words, their letters slightly reordered to generate new meanings. Inspired by Lebanese sociologist and linguist Ahmad Beydoun’s writings on the “imaginary of letters,” Al Solh playfully reflects on the Arabic language, sound, and semantic shifts. Examples include Lakama (Punch/King), Ghabar–Raghab (Dust/Lust), and Khabat/Tabakh (Hit/Cooking)—pairs that expose the subtle transformations carried by rearranged roots.
