Shared micromobility sees third year of record highs in North America.

Recent data published by the North American Bikeshare and Scootershare Association (NABSA) shows that riders in North America made an estimated 237 million trips on shared-use bikes and scooters in 2025 - an increase in 5% from 2024.

Mandatory helmets for e-scooter riders in Ireland and Paris.

In both regions, a new rule has been introduced that riders of e-scooters must wear a helmet and high-visibility clothing, while Ireland is also introducing a ban on under-18 riders.

Shared micromobility operators removed from Brussels

Following infringements, the Belgian capital’s Council of State has annulled the contracts of most dockless e-scooter and bike operators, requiring a new shared mobility legal framework to be prepared. Therefore, from September 1st, Dot, Voi and Bolt vehicles are no longer allowed on the street.

E-bike use rising sharply in the Netherlands’ younger demographics

The latest research from the Netherlands has shown that from 2021 to 2025, the percentage of young riders (aged 12-17) riding e-bikes has risen from 11-29%, and young adults (aged 18-24) has increased from 8-27%.
