From Belgium to Malaysia: A Qur'anic Worldview for the Modern World

Alhamdulillah, after years of teaching, writing, humanitarian work, and travelling across Africa, Asia and Europe, the Malay translation of my book is now ready:

"Pandangan Dunia Qur’ani – Panduan Untuk Hidup di Dunia Yang Terluka" (A Qur’anic Worldview – A Guide for Living in a Broken World)

This book is more than a collection of reflections. It is an invitation to rediscover the Qur’an as a worldview that addresses the challenges of our time: identity, family, education, social justice, materialism, mental well-being, media influence, and our relationship with Allah.

Next month, I will be travelling to Malaysia to promote this work, engage with students and academics, and discuss how Qur’anic principles can contribute to contemporary society.

I am also honoured to have a meeting scheduled with the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), one of the leading institutions in the Muslim world.

My hope is that this book will serve as a bridge between classical Islamic scholarship and the realities faced by modern Muslims, educators, leaders and students.

A special thank you to everyone who contributed to the translation, publication and dissemination of this work.

May Allah make it a source of benefit and guidance.

Alhamdulillah, all of the cows have now been sacrificed.

We sincerely thank all our donors for placing their trust in us. The meat is being distributed to needy families, widows, and orphans across Chad and Cameroon.

“The Prophet ﷺ said:
‘There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.’
(Sahih al-Bukhari)

The Day of Arafat is one of the greatest and most blessed days of the year — a day of mercy, forgiveness and acceptance.

And Eid al-Adha reminds us of the legacy of Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام: sincerity, sacrifice and submission to Allah.

Qurbani is not only the sacrifice of an animal. It is the sacrifice of ego, attachment and selfishness for the sake of Allah. It is a reminder that faith requires sincerity, gratitude and compassion for those in need.

Allah says in the Qur’an:

“It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, but it is your piety that reaches Him.”
(Surah Al-Hajj 22:37)

This blessed act feeds families, brings joy to the poor and revives the spirit of brotherhood across the Ummah.

May Allah accept the sacrifices, fasting, du’a and good deeds from all of us during these blessed days. 🤲

Today I once again had the honor of giving lectures about Islam at Sint-Bavo humaniora (Catholic school school) to more than 12 classes and over 200 students.

What always inspires me most is not only speaking to students, but truly engaging with them through open dialogue and honest conversations. The questions were thoughtful, challenging, and deeply relevant to the world young people are growing up in today.

We spoke about topics such as the hijab, halal food, spirituality, social media influence, identity, and even difficult geopolitical questions — including why some Muslim countries, such as the UAE, are perceived as supporting or remaining silent regarding the genocide in Gaza.

Beyond the lectures themselves, the personal conversations afterwards touched me deeply. I spoke with a Protestant student who shared how important spirituality is in his life and how interested he has become in Islam and the Qur’an. I also had a heartfelt conversation with a Muslim student who admitted struggling with motivation to pray and reconnect spiritually.

These moments remind me why education, dialogue, and sincere human connection matter so much. Many young people today are searching for meaning, truth, and direction in a world full of distractions and noise.

I also gave the students and teachers a glimpse into my upcoming book, Qur’anic Worldview, where I discuss modern societal challenges through the lens of the Qur’an — including identity, mental well-being, media influence, spirituality, family, and social justice.

This has become a beautiful yearly tradition, and I am grateful to continue building bridges through respectful dialogue, education, and reflection.

This Friday was a very special moment for me as a teacher.

A student from our school, originally from Côte d’Ivoire and from a Christian background, embraced Islam during Jumuʿah, alhamdulillah.

For the past five years, he had been following Catholic religion classes at school. This year, however, he decided to join my Islamic studies class, even though he was not Muslim at the time. Throughout the year, he asked questions, listened carefully, and sincerely searched for answers.

As the school year is coming to an end, I felt I needed to have one final serious conversation with him. I did not want him to leave without speaking openly about faith, life, and his spiritual journey. This week we had a deep discussion about belief, purpose, and Islam.

And yesterday, on Friday, he consciously took his shahādah.

May Allah keep him firm, protect him, and allow him to grow in knowledge, peace, and imān.

These are moments a teacher never forgets. Not because we guide hearts — only Allah does that — but because sometimes you are allowed to witness a heart being opened by Allah.

At Gardens of the Sincere, our mission goes beyond humanitarian aid alone.
Every project we organize is connected to something deeper: knowledge, da’wah, education and spiritual development.

While delivering Qurbani meat to families in need, we also travel personally to different countries to organize university conferences, youth talks and educational gatherings. We distribute our own written books, speak about faith, identity, spirituality and responsibility, and try to build bridges between hearts and communities.

For us, helping people is not only about feeding the body, but also about nourishing the mind and soul.

This unique combination of humanitarian work, education and da’wah is what makes Gardens of the Sincere different.
From Africa to Asia, we aim to create long-term impact through both sadaqa and knowledge.

This year, our Qurbani projects will take place under our direct supervision in countries such as Chad and Cameroon. Every donation is a trust, and every sacrifice is carried out with care, transparency and responsibility.

Together, we do not only distribute meat.
We spread hope, knowledge and purpose.
