Out For The Win aims to normalise LGBTQI-people in sports and empower youth to feel comfortable in their own skin, by increasing the visibility of the LGBTQI-community in all sports through storytelling

“I identify as a gay man. I don’t hide that, but speaking openly about it in football is still difficult. It remains a sensitive subject. The idea that a gay man can be taken seriously as a football coach is not yet a given for many people. I’m the only one at my club. Some players and board members know, but it’s usually not spoken about. It hangs in the air somewhere.” - 🇧🇪⚽️

Join us for an exciting BMX initiation created by OFTW x ***rmarchghent .

This session is open to all levels with a big focus on beginners. You’ll be guided every step of the way by professional BMX trainer Stijn from , who will help you build confidence and skills on the bike. We provide the bikes, an own helmet can be useful. Location is the Blaarmeersen skatepark in Gent, Zuiderlaan 13.

Most importantly, this is a safe(r) space where you can feel free to be yourself and connect with others while having fun on two wheels.

2025 wasn’t an easy year for our LGBTQIA+ community in sport. But progress still happened, because people chose to act.

Out For The Win choose to focus on what moved us forward, and to carry that momentum into 2026. 💫

Alongside many organisations, we will keep pushing for safer, inclusive sport for all.

🌈 Next week marks the final webinar of our +PLUSS project!

Over the past years, we’ve worked closely with SportieQ to develop community guidelines and a policy paper aimed at creating a safer, more inclusive sports world.
From Lyon to Basel to Ghent to Budapest, we connected with inspiring partners, exchanged best practices, and built a shared vision for the future of inclusive sport.

Feeling incredibly grateful for the chance to help tell these stories—and to build, together, towards sports environments where everyone feels welcome, safe, and seen. 💕
