Gembloux was het afgelopen weekend 'the place to be' voor liefhebbers van handgemaakte messen. Zo'n 170 deelnemers uit 12 verschillende landen delen hun passie en vakmanschap met de talrijke bezoekers.
Het is dankzij het unieke partnerschap tussen de stad Gembloux, de toeristische dienst van Gembloux, de leden van les Chevaliers de la Coutellerie de Gembloux en de vrijwilligers van de BKS dat deze beurs zo'n succes is. Zonder al die passie, energie, volharding en creativiteit staan we nergens.
De BKS bedankt alle deelnemers en bezoekers, maar zeker ook de zichtbare en minder zichtbare helpende handen voor en achter de schermen. Hen allemaal individueel vermelden is onbegonnen werk. Denk maar aan de talrijke fotografen, de mensen die het ganse weekend smeeddemo's hebben gegeven, de juryleden, het plaatsen en opruimen van het tapijt en tafels, verzorgen van de communicatie, het bemannen van de inkom, het bakken van al die frieten, tappen van al dat bier (inclusief de afwas), het onderhoudsteam van het sportcomplex, de bewegwijzering in de omgeving, het beheren van de inschrijvingen (en selecteren van de deelnemers), layout van de affiches, ...

Le week-end dernier, Gembloux était « the place to be » pour les amateurs de couteaux artisanaux. Quelque 170 participants venus de 12 pays différents ont partagé leur passion et leur savoir-faire avec les nombreux visiteurs.
C'est grâce au partenariat unique entre la ville de Gembloux, l'office du tourisme de Gembloux, les membres des Chevaliers de la Coutellerie de Gembloux et les bénévoles de la BKS que ce salon connaît un tel succès. Sans toute cette passion, cette énergie, cette persévérance et cette créativité, nous n'irions nulle part.
La BKS remercie tous les participants et visiteurs, mais aussi les personnes qui ont apporté leur aide, visible ou moins visible, devant et derrière les coulisses. Les citer tous individuellement serait une tâche impossible. Pensons simplement aux nombreux photographes, aux personnes qui ont donné des démonstrations de forge tout au long du week-end, aux membres du jury, l'installation et le rangement de la moquette et des tables, la communication, l'accueil, la cuisson de toutes ces frites, le service de la bière (y compris la vaisselle), l'équipe d'entretien du complexe sportif, la signalisation dans les environs, la gestion des inscriptions (et la sélection des participants), la mise en page des affiches, ...

Last weekend, Gembloux was the place to be for lovers of handmade knives. Around 170 participants from 12 different countries shared their passion and craftsmanship with the numerous visitors.
The unique partnership between the city of Gembloux, the Gembloux tourist office, the members of Les Chevaliers de la Coutellerie de Gembloux and the volunteers of the BKS has made this fair such a success. Without all that passion, energy, perseverance and creativity, we would be nowhere.
The BKS would like to thank all participants and visitors, but also the visible and less visible helping hands in front of and behind the scenes. It would be impossible to mention them all individually. Just think of the numerous photographers, the people who gave forging demonstrations throughout the weekend, the jury members, laying and clearing away the carpet and tables, taking care of communications, manning the entrance, baking all those chips, tapping all that beer (including washing up), the maintenance team at the sports complex, the signage in the area, managing the registrations (and selecting the participants), layout of the posters, ...
