🇮🇹🚨Solidarity with workers at the Ciampino control tower

The ETF expresses its full solidarity with the workers of the ENAV Group who were victims of a violent attack at the control tower of Ciampino airport, in Italy, earlier this week. We wish a fast recovery to all people involved.

An individual was able to break through the security system of the tower, assaulting multiple workers, take control over highly sensitive equipment and set fire to it. This has put in evidence the urgent need for authorities in Italy and all across Europe to assess and improve the security levels of their air traffic management and overall airport facilities.

The ETF stands with ATM workers in their demands for more resources and monitoring to make their workplaces safe and sound.

As we all rely on these workers to guarantee a safe airspace, more must be done to guarantee safety in their own workplaces.

📢 URGENT: Protecting Workers’ Rights in Serbia’s Air Traffic Control ✈️🇷🇸

The Serbian air navigation service provider, , is undermining social dialogue by pushing air traffic controllers into a forced strike situation. Serbia’s leadership, under President , appears to be following in the steps of Hungary’s Prime Minister , undermining the rights of workers to effective strikes and imposing restrictive regulations to render worker actions powerless.

The ETF - European Transport Workers' Federation is standing up for Serbian air traffic controllers and calling on European leaders and institutions to safeguard workers’ rights and support genuine social dialogue. If this trend continues, it threatens to spread across Europe, risking the fundamental rights of workers everywhere.

🚨 Without immediate action, the consequences will reach travelers directly. Summer 2025 could bring high delays and severe traffic disruptions that impact everyone. We urge European leaders to respect and protect social dialogue now to ensure safer, fairer skies for all.
