A big „Thank you“ to our Rotarian guest from Uganda, James Kyeyune, the immediate past president (2025/2026) of the Wobulenzi Rotary Club in Kampala. He told us a lot about the club and their social projects in Kampala.

A big „thank you“ 🙏🏻 to our speaker John Millns, who recently stepped down as Team Leader for the EU4SmallFarms project, which had to adjust from a small farms project to a logistics and donor coordination machine to ensure food security during wartime. John has over 25 years experience working in rural development in Central and Eastern Europe. 👌🏻

RC Brussels Cantersteen contributed to the 17th edition of the Prix Rotary de la Citoyenne, Brussels 2026

The Rotary Citizenship Award is an initiative bringing together 19 Rotary Clubs from Brussels and the surrounding area. It aims to recognise and support outstanding initiatives that promote responsible citizenship, solidarity, civic engagement and social responsibility.

With a total prize fund of up to €30,000 donated by the participating Clubs, the award is open to Brussels citizen’s associations, which developed or carried out initiatives with a positive impact on local society. Particular attention is given to projects that foster civic awareness and citizenship values among young people. Initiatives may cover a wide range of areas, including education, culture, social action, professional life, health, safety, the environment and community engagement.

As in the past, Rotary Club Brussels Cantersteen participated in the 2026 edition, again joining fellow Brussels Rotary Clubs, thus contributing to the wider Brussels community.

The 2026 awards ceremony took place on 11 June 2026 at the Woluwé-Saint-Pierre Town Hall.
