Today is !

The ocean covers more than two-thirds of Earth’s surface, holds some of the largest reservoirs of biodiversity, and helps to keep our planet—and people—healthy.

Beyond the marine life that call it home, the ocean provides food and livelihoods, produces oxygen, regulates weather systems, and holds cultural significance for many around the world.

But its health is in decline, largely due to commercial activities compounded by the changing climate.

Swipe through to learn about 3 ways we can safeguard our seas, for a more sustainable future.

Fact: Synthetic clothing is the 4th largest source of microplastic pollution in the EU.

We are joining 14 partner organisations to call on the European Commission to include measures in their ecodesign regulations that reduce microfibre shedding across textiles’ full life cycle—keeping harmful microplastics out of our environment.
