Strong cities are at the heart of Ukraine’s resilience and recovery.

In Ternopil, with our financing, we are helping deliver greener, more efficient and more accessible public services.

🔵 Four kindergartens have been upgraded with energy-efficiency improvements, creating warmer learning environments for more than 1,100 children and 250 staff while reducing energy use by at least 20%.

🔵At the same time, 17 new Ukrainian-made trolleybuses are entering service, making public transport more reliable, accessible and sustainable for the city’s 250,000 residents.

In Sierra Leone, we're supporting a new approach to education financing: funding is linked to results, not activities.

📚 Through the Sierra Leone Education Innovation Challenge, payments are made only when improvements in literacy and numeracy are independently verified.

✅ So far, 134,000 pupils across 325 schools have improved their skills.

⚡ Electricity demand is growing. Slovakia’s grids need to keep up.

We’re investing a further €50 million in ZSE Group’s electricity network, bringing our total financing to €400 million.

The upgrades will modernise the grid, expand smart technologies and help integrate more renewable energy.

What does a wind farm really deliver?

Clean electricity for families. Reliable energy for businesses. A stronger, more resilient Europe.

That's why we're providing more than €260 million to support the construction of Poland's second-largest onshore wind farm:
