It's time for your Sunday morning roundup! Here are our top projects from this week:

🇪🇸 Spain
We're lending €500 million to the Government of the Basque Country to modernise and expand healthcare infrastructure, including major upgrades to hospitals across the region, benefiting more than 2.3 million people.

🇵🇬 Papua New Guinea
We're providing $25 million to improve access to clean water in towns across the country and in the capital, Port Moresby. The project is expected to bring reliable drinking water to an additional 400,000 people.

🌳 A Forest Strategy protecting, expanding and restoring forests challenged by climate change

Real is better.

We thought of asking AI to generate an image of a record-breaking bridge soaring 270 metres above a river valley, stretching 2.5 km across the clouds, and carrying millions of travellers every year.

However, we’d rather finance real projects than generate imaginary ones.

This is the Millau Viaduct in France. Real project. Real impact.

When completed in 2004, the Millau Viaduct was the tallest bridge in the world, and we helped make it happen.

This isn’t AI-generated. This is what investing in Europe and its citizens looks like.
