They filmed everything. They wanted the world to see it but much of the world has chosen to ignore it, simply because the victims were Jewish and Israeli. But silence is no longer an option.
Yesterday, the Civil Commission on the October 7th crimes committed by Hamas against women and children released one of the most difficult documents to read about the atrocities committed on October 7th and against hostages in captivity. A report that the dedicated team of the Civil Commission and experts from around the world worked meticulously and with the utmost care, compassion, and integrity to collect and document.
The report includes testimonies from more than 430 witnesses, survivors of October 7th, medical experts, first responders, and forensic examiners who documented what they saw. Every page is a brutal reminder of the atrocities committed that day and in captivity. Each testimony reveals acts of extreme cruelty and brutality that are deeply disturbing to read.
What is so devastating and infuriating is the silence and denial that has followed.
On a personal note, for those who have watched the footage, the live broadcasts, seen the images, and listened to the testimonies, it is difficult to fully describe the weight of witnessing the world’s silence in the face of such cruelt. We can only imagine what the survivors, the victims, and their families have been enduring for the past two and a half years since October 7th.
We are here to say to the world, governments, the UN, international organizations, activists, and those who have spent two years denying or minimizing what happened, silence is no longer acceptable. You cannot ignore it any longer. You cannot pretend not to know.
