EBEC is a three-phased European engineering competition for students, consisting of 80 Local Rounds a

EBEC is an European engineering competition for students, organised by the Board of European Students of Technology (BEST). Spreading across 32 countries, EBEC accomplishes its mission of developing students by offering them an opportunity to challenge themselves in solving either theoretical or practical engineering problem. The students will work on solving the modern world problems in the two d

ifferent EBEC categories: Team Design or Case Study. Bringing together students, universities, companies, institutions and NGOs, EBEC aims to put the students’ full range of multidisciplinary knowledge and personal skills to the test and apply this newfound potential into solving real-life problems, all the while working in teams of four. Under the core service of BEST, EBEC provides complementary education. During the competition, active and inquisitive students have the chance to apply the knowledge they gained through university, to improve their communication skills, to broaden their horizons, and to develop their creativity and communication skills. EBEC contributes in the support and advancement of the technological education, as well as in the promotion of collaboration in a multicultural environment.

⚙️🚀 What is the EBEC Challenge? How does it work? What is the EBEC Pyramid?

The European BEST Engineering Competition Challenge is the biggest competition in Europe made by and for engineering students.

💡In this competition, you are challenged to solve various problems that tackle the modern world with your technical, analytical and soft skills.

📈The competition was divided into 2 levels.
The participants started their competing path in the first level - the Local round. Afterwards, the winning teams took part in the National & Regional Rounds to compete with the winners of other Local rounds.

🏭🛠 GLOBAL TOPIC
This year our focus was on sustainability and recycling in general, whilst shaping those principles to fit both categories - Case Study and Innovative Design.

Every year, EBEC brings together creative teams of students that compete on two categories:

🔵 Case Study 🔵 designed for the thinkers whom want to elaborate on a solution that fits a real-case scenario based on realistic resources.

🟢 Innovative Design 🟢 developed for the creators that are going the extra mile to create a unique technological design.

Each of the categories have one main goal: for you and your team to have fun while creating a solution that can change the world!

Firstly you can meet EssilorLuxottica, during our Official Opening, learn more about them from their company presentation and interact with them during the networking event! Of course, since they are a task partner, EssilorLuxottica will deliver the Case Study topic to the participants, while also announcing the winners of their task during Official Closing.

🎉EBEC Final is getting closer and thanks to Siemens Digital Industries Software, our participants and 10 of our volunteers are getting the chance to join a training session on the 3D CAD modeling software Solid Edge from Siemens!

🛠️This will help them be prepared for the competition, since Solid Edge will be used in one of the tasks in the Innovative Design category at the EBEC Final 2022 in Zagreb.

The Workshop is being delivered by Douglas Stainbrook on the 11th and the 15th of July!

EssilorLuxottica will be one of the partners of the Final Round of EBEC 2022!

They are a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of ophthalmic lenses, frames and sunglasses. They will be collaborating in creating one of the two Case Study topics that the participants will have to solve during the competition!

We are very excited to partner with Siemens again, after supporting the Local Round of the EBEC Student Competition in Erlangen, they are ready to support us also in the Final Round!. The Solid Edge team will also provide training on the software to get the students well prepared for the contest.
