On April 7, 2026, the General Meeting of the members of the European Arbitration Chamber (EAC) was held in Brussels, bringing together representatives of the professional community of international arbitrators and experts from Belgium, Germany, Italy, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Azerbaijan, and Turkey.
The meeting was opened by the President of the EAC, Mr. Hennadii Pampukha, who presented a report on the activities of the EAC for 2023–2026 and outlined the key directions for its further development.
During the meeting, participants considered a wide range of issues related to the institutional development of the Chamber, the improvement of arbitration procedures, and the expansion of the EAC’s global presence.
Within the strategic agenda, Mr. Andrea Moja presented initiatives aimed at developing educational programs for arbitrators, including advanced training courses and certification programs, as well as proposals for modernizing the ICAC Arbitration Rules.
A separate segment of the meeting was devoted to expanding the geographical presence of the EAC worldwide. Projects for opening official representative offices in the Republic of Turkey and Uzbekistan were presented. The participants of the General Meeting reviewed the regulations governing EAC representative offices and considered candidates for leadership positions.
Concluding the meeting, participants summarized the outcomes and approved the key objectives and development strategy of the EAC for the upcoming year, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening international cooperation and advancing arbitration practice.
Within the framework of the meeting, the development of art expertise as a promising area of the EAC’s activities was discussed.
On the second day of the visit, the delegation visited the Waterloo Asian Museum at the special invitation of Mr. Patrick Laycock, curator and founder of the museum.
Officially opened on October 6, 2025, in the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Léa of Belgium, Ms Florence Reuter, Mayor of Waterloo, and Her Excellency Ms Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador of Thailand, the museum presents a unique collection of art and cultural heritage from Asian countries, including Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and others.
During a guided tour, Mr. Laycock engagingly presented the exhibition and spoke about the collection, which he has been building for over 45 years. The museum visit became a vivid and memorable conclusion to the EAC meeting program.
In addition, an agreement was reached that the address of the International Center for Expertise under the European Arbitration Chamber will be placed at the Waterloo Asian Museum for all inquiries related to art expertise.
