Who are the Association Femmes d'Europe?

For more than 50 years, the Association Femmes d'Europe has been bringing together women from across Europe around a shared commitment: supporting humanitarian projects and promoting solidarity beyond borders.
Entirely volunteer-led, the Association raises funds through cultural and charitable initiatives that help improve the lives of vulnerable communities around the world.
A Voice from Ireland is much more than a concert. It is an opportunity to celebrate music while contributing to meaningful humanitarian action.
By attending the Irish Gala, you are helping support the Association's projects and continuing a long tradition of generosity and European cooperation.
Together, culture can make a difference.

Did you know that “A Voice from Ireland” is part of the Official Programme of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union?

Every six months, a Member State of the European Union assumes the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, helping to shape the European agenda while showcasing its culture, heritage and values.

As part of Ireland's 2026 Presidency, an ambitious cultural programme is taking place across Europe, celebrating Irish creativity, identity and artistic excellence.

We are honoured that A Voice from Ireland has been selected as one of these official events.

Through music, the Gala reflects the Presidency's spirit of dialogue, cooperation and shared European values, while strengthening the cultural ties between Ireland and Belgium.

🎶🇮🇪 Meet Emmet Cahill
We are delighted to introduce Emmet Cahill Irish Tenor, internationally acclaimed Irish soloist, at our Charity Gala Concert «A Voice from Ireland».
Having performed on some of the world's most prestigious stages, including Carnegie Hall, Central Hall Westminster and St Patrick's Cathedral in New York, Emmet has captivated audiences worldwide with his remarkable voice and moving interpretations.
On 27 October 2026, he will take the stage at Bozar ,Brussels, alongside renowned uilleann piper Mark Redmond Music the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra and the Brussels Philharmonic Chorus , under the direction of Maestro David Navarro-Turres.
Together, they will create a unique musical bridge between Ireland and Belgium, celebrating the themes of Exile • Resilience • Hope through an unforgettable evening of music.

The Irish Group of the Association Femmes d'Europe aisbl is proud to present “A Voice from Ireland” an exceptional Charity Gala Concert.

Taking place on 27 October 2026 at Bozar Brussels, this event forms part of the Official Programme of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026.

The evening will bring together internationally renowned Emmet Cahill Irish Tenor ,renowned uilleann piper Mark Redmond, the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra and Brussels Philharmonic Chorus, under the direction of David Navarro-Turres.

Inspired by the themes of Exile • Resilience • Hope, the evening celebrates the enduring ties between Ireland and Europe through music, while raising funds for our humanitarian projects.

The Gala is generously supported by Microsoft, Ibec, Culture Ireland and the Embassy of Ireland in Belgium, whose commitment helps make this cultural and charitable initiative possible.

Over the coming months, we will introduce the artists, share the story behind the Gala and take you behind the scenes of this exceptional event.

🌎 Humanitarian Project 🫶🏼
We are happy to share wonderful news from Akedehui, a remote village in the Notsè prefecture of the Plateaux region in Togo, near the border with Benin.
Thanks to combined efforts of our members and friends, after the request for support from the Association Bonne Arrivée asbl , a deep borehole has been successfully drilled in the heart of the community.
This vertical well, coordinated on site by Asded Togo, reaches the groundwater (reported depth up to 120m) so both the village and surrounding communities can now collect safe, potable water.
Akedehui is a mainly rural community where coffee, cocoa and cotton plantations rub shoulders with rare teak and mahogany wood crops.
Until now humanitarian aid rarely reached this area, so access to clean water has made a real difference.
✨This project, like so many others, reminds us how powerful collective solidarity can be. Thanks to you, clean water is no longer a dream but a reality ! ✨

Last Sunday evening, the Church of Saint-Jacques-sur-Coudenberg hosted a magnificent Concert organised by the Hungarian group of fde, bringing together the Orchestre de Nivelles and Les Chœurs de l'Union européenne under the direction of Arnaud Giroud.
The programme featured Mendelssohn’s Ruy Blas Overture and Lauda Sion, with outstanding soloists Céline Remy, Violette Schloesing, Jean-Luc Manzi and Samuel Desguin, followed by Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 “From the New World”, a powerful and moving finale.

A heartfelt thank you to all the musicians, performers and organizers who made this evening possible and to the audience whose presence filled the church with warmth and enthusiasm!
