🔥 CESI stands in solidarity with firefighters across Europe

🇪🇺 CESI, the European Confederation of Independent Trade Unions, expresses its full support for the firefighters, emergency responders and civil protection personnel working tirelessly to combat the devastating wildfires affecting several European countries.

🚒🧯They face extreme conditions to protect lives, homes, forests and communities. We honour their courage, professionalism and unwavering commitment.

Our thoughts are with those who have been injured, the families of those who have lost their lives, and everyone whose homes and communities have been affected.

As wildfires become more frequent and severe, Europe must do more than thank those on the front lines. We must ensure they have the staffing, training, equipment and protection they need to carry out their vital work safely.

🤝 We also stand with our member organisations representing firefighters and emergency service workers across Europe. European solidarity means supporting those who protect us all.

𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲’𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿: 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴.

With hundreds of thousands of hectares burned across the EU this year, Europe must invest in stronger firefighting capacity, better prevention and more coordinated cross-border action.

This means:

- Tackling staff shortages and improving firefighters’ working conditions
- Expanding Europe’s aerial firefighting capacity
- Strengthening satellite monitoring and early-warning systems
- Investing in joint training and cross-border preparedness
- Improving sustainable land and forest management

We owe deep gratitude to the firefighters, emergency responders and public service workers protecting lives and communities under extremely dangerous conditions. Their courage must be matched by 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

Solidarity during an emergency is essential—but resilience is built before disaster strikes.

A CESI segíti a Szociális Jogok Európai Pillérében megfogalmazottak érvényesülését Magyarországi tagszervezetén, az MKKSZ-en keresztül. Elkötelezett az MKKSZ-en keresztül az önkormányzati humánerőforrás szakszervezeti szervezettségének növelésében, a rendkívül alacsony köztisztviselői keresetek növelésében - mondta Klaus Heeger, CESI Főtitkára a budapesti rendezvényen.
