Last week, members of ENQA’s pool of experts came together to exchange experiences and reflections on the role of the review chair, with contributions by Teresa Sánchez Chaparro, Ronny Heintze, Nora Skaburskienė and Tue Vinther-Jørgensen, who shared their insights and practical perspectives.
One of the takeaways from the discussion was the idea that an effective chair is simultaneously the motor, compass, glue, and seal of the review panel:
🚀 The motor keeps the review moving forward and focused on its objectives.
🧭 The compass provides direction, guiding the panel through the review process and helping it navigate complex discussions and evidence.
🤝 The glue brings the panel together by facilitating deliberations, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that members work effectively as a team.
✅ The seal safeguards the quality and integrity of the review, ensuring that both the process and its outcomes are rigorous and robust.
