ENQA disseminates information, experiences and good practices in the field of QA in HE to European QA agencies, public authorities and HEIs.

The European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) is an umbrella organisation which represents its members at the European level and internationally, especially in political decision making processes and in co-operations with stakeholder organisations. The Association aims to maintain and enhance the quality of European higher education at a high level, and to act as a major driving force for the development of quality assurance across all the Bologna signatory countries. ENQA contributes to this goal especially by promoting European co-operation in the field of quality assurance in higher education and disseminating information and expertise among its members and towards stakeholders in order to develop and share good practice and to foster the European dimension of quality assurance.

✅ ENQA is attending the EQAR Members’ Dialogue 2026 in Brussels (Belgium).

✅ The EDL-Ready project is hosting in Brussels (Belgium) the first workshop in a series of four designed to support quality assurance agencies in conducting assessments for the Joint European Degree Label.

📢 Members present at the ENQA General Assembly 2026 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain) have elected Péter Levente Lakatos (MAB, Hungary) as President, after renewing his membership on the Board for a second term of three years.

Two new Board members were also elected during the General Assembly:
☑️ Varduhi Gyulazyan (ANQA, Armenia), for a first term of three years
☑️ Ronny Heintze (AQAS, Germany) was elected for a first term of three years

☑️ Last week, the High Council for the Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (Hcéres, France) hosted a site visit for an external review coordinated by ENQA.

ENQA Agency Reviews are conducted by external expert panels. The task of the review panel is to evaluate the agency’s activities and provide their view on whether it is acting in compliance with the ESG.

🎙️ Last week, ENQA took part in the International Forum on Transparency in Governance of Higher Education Institutions hosted by the Council of Europe Platform on Ethics, Transparency and Integrity in Education (ETINED) in Strasbourg (France).

ENQA Senior Policy and Project Coordinator Elena Cirlan moderated a session on system-level transparency strategies, obstacles, and outcomes.

🎙️ This week, ENQA Agency Review Committee (ARC) member Simona Lache took part in a peer learning activity organised by the Bologna Follow-Up Group (BFUG) Working Group on Fundamental Values in St. Julian's (Malta).

The event focused on institutional autonomy in the European Higher Education Area, bringing together a diverse range of stakeholders to explore the topic from multiple perspectives.
