The Food Bridge vzw's work focuses on food cultures, agrofood entrepreneurship, food security, research and education.

We are a non-profit organization highlighting the often neglected potential of food not just as a tool for building bridges between people and across cultures, but also its relevance as an important development tool. We engage in food advocacy that insures –

Agrofood Entrepreneurship
Access to acceptable and nutritious food
Sharing of food based knowledge and research
Preservation of indigenous food and knowledge in our global food system

🌱🍲 Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Roots & Recipes project’s European Researchers’ Night activities at the AfricaMuseum! 🙌🏾

It was truly inspiring to meet and talk with so many people who stopped by the Collective Action on Forgotten Foods (CAFF)** stand. 🌾🌍

People were not just curious — they were engaged, asking questions, sharing experiences and interested in how we can build a better, more diverse and sustainable food system together. 💚🌱

These conversations remind us why forgotten and heritage foods matter — for biodiversity, nutrition, culture, climate resilience and our shared food future.

A big thank you to everyone who visited, participated and shared their ideas! 🙏🏾✨

Are you an African Diaspora Agrofood Forum? You can still apply to be featured in the 2026 African Diaspora Agrofood Forum.

The Compendium aims to increase the visibility of African Diaspora entrepreneurs working across the agrofood sector and showcase their businesses, innovations and impact to policymakers, government agencies, funders, development actors, potential partners and the wider public. If you would like to be featured in the 2026 edition, you can submit your information through either of the following forms:

🌍Call for Submissions: African Diaspora Agrofood Entrepreneur of the Year 2026

Are you an African Diaspora entrepreneur transforming the agrofood sector and making a real impact in Africa, Europe or the Caribbean? The Food Bridge is inviting you to apply for the 2026 African Diaspora Agrofood Entrepreneur of the Year Award, to be presented at the 10th African Diaspora Agrofood Forum (ADAF26).
We are looking for entrepreneurs with at least three years of experience whose businesses or projects demonstrate clear social, economic, development and cultural impact. We particularly want to celebrate entrepreneurs creating jobs, strengthening local economies, promoting sustainable food systems, preserving African and Caribbean food heritage, and creating positive change in their communities.
