Meet another of our 2026 Mentees: 💜

Based in Portugal, rede ex aequo is part of our Mentorship Programme, where they’re working to better understand how schools can become more inclusive for LGBTQI young people.

By listening to teachers and gathering evidence from across the country, they’re exploring what’s already working and what still needs to change. Building on these findings, they will develop practical recommendations to help policymakers and schools create safer education environments.

LGBTQI young people keep facing violence, discrimination, and bullying in schools. ⚠️

This has to stop… and you can help by sharing your story!

We are launching the second edition of our LGBTQI School Survey, the most comprehensive survey of its kind in the European region!

The aim is to understand your lived experiences as an LGBTQI young person in school, whether you are still in school, a recent graduate, or had to leave school. 🏫🌈

The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete and is entirely anonymous and confidential. It is also available in over 15 languages.

This is not just any survey: Its results will be used by European and national policymakers to improve school environments.

The information you share is crucial for IGLYO and its Members across Europe to advocate for safer, more inclusive, and more supportive education systems for you and ALL LGBTQI young people.

Your story can ensure that all fellow LGBTQI learners, pupils and students can go to school free from violence, discrimination and fear.

Another opportunity to join our team! 🔥

Are you passionate about creating and coordinating intersectional programmes that bring LGBTQI youth from across Europe together to learn, connect, and collaborate on creating meaningful change for our communities? Are you an expert in the management of international events, projects, and grants? Then you’ll most likely want to join our team in Brussels as our full-time Programmes Manager! 💜

The IGLYO Programmes Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation of all of IGLYO’s programmes, including the Activist Academy, international conferences, webinars and online workshops, capacity-building programmes, study visits, the IGLYO Grants Programme, and other programme-related activities.

Through this role, you’ll also be responsible for grant management and fundraising, line management of two staff members, and, as a member of the Management Team, you’ll contribute to IGLYO’s strategic direction, organisational planning, coordination and decision-making.

We offer a gross salary of €3200-3800 depending on experience, an additional teleworking and internet allowance, lunch vouchers, €500 of yearly personal development budget, a 13th month, and more advantages fully detailed in our Application Pack.

We’re launching the second edition of our IGLYO LGBTQI School Survey on 18 August 2026 at 10:00 CEST! 📣

By sharing your experiences at school, you’ll help build the evidence we need to advocate for safer, more inclusive learning environments across Europe. We need as many answers as possible to make the results representative and meaningful. So, get ready to make your voice heard! 💜

The survey will be open to LGBTQI young people across the Council of Europe region who are currently in school or have recently graduated. It’s completely anonymous and confidential, takes around 15 minutes, and will be available in more than 15 languages.

Our Member is amplifying LGBTQI students’ voices through our Mentorship Programme 2026! 📣

Advocating for the rights of LGBTQI people in Malta for more than two decades, Malta LGBTQI Rights Movement is one of our 2026 Mentees working to create more inclusive educational environments across Europe.

Through their IGLYO Mentorship Project, they are exploring policies and experiences in post-secondary and tertiary education, while supporting LGBTQI young advocates and developing recommendations for meaningful change.

We are so proud to see this work grow and the impact it is already creating! 💜

Every LGBTQI young person’s experience at school matters. By gathering your voices and understanding your experience in school, we can strengthen our advocacy for safer, more inclusive education systems across Europe.

The survey launches on 18 August 2026 and will be open to LGBTQI young people across the Council of Europe Region who are in school or recently graduated.
