From 4–6 September 2026, the 10th EHH NextGen Cultural Weekend brought our NextGen members together in beautiful Trondheim, Norway.

🏛️ Over three days, the programme took us through the Archbishop’s Palace Museum, Huitfeldtgården, Ferstad Gård, Ringve Musikkmuseum and Leangen Gård, offering a wonderful introduction to some of the city’s historic places.

🎶 At Ringve, music accompanied us as we explored the different rooms, while at Leangen Gård we were warmly welcomed by Trondheim’s Mayor and Deputy Mayor for the evening.

☀️ We rounded off the weekend with visits to Bakke gård and Bakke kirke.

🥂 On 1 July, EHH had the pleasure of joining Le Dimore del Quartetto for a very special Cultural Heritage Forum at the magnificent Palazzo Corsini in to celebrate its 10th anniversary!

Bringing together owners and managers of historic houses, heritage professionals and international experts from across the European network, the event created a valuable space for reflection, discussion and exchange through a series of thematic workshops. It also highlighted the important role that collaboration, culture and artistic initiatives can play in bringing historic places to life and connecting them with new audiences.

🎻 The programme concluded with a concert by Trio Sheliak, which performed Maurice Ravel's Piano Trio in A Minor, a perfect choice that demonstrated music's ability to connect people, places, and cultural heritage.

🚀 Last week, EHH took part in We Make Future, a leading international trade fair focused on AI, technology, and digital innovation, held in .

💡Martina Gueli, our Head of Office, attended the panel “Tourism and Creativity: Smart Ecosystems for New Experiences,” where she introduced the four interregional business cases EHH developed within the MetaHeritage Innovation project and the challenges they address:

- Connect creative industries with technology providers more effectively
- Support SMEs and heritage operators in their digital transition
- Turn cultural assets into engaging, market-ready experiences
- Build scalable models that create economic, social and territorial value across regions

🏛️🤖 During the panel “A Necessary Future: Digital Humanities,” Martina presented EHH’s perspective on how tools such as digital twins, 3D models, virtual reality, and gaming are shaping new ways of experiencing historic houses. She also highlighted how digital innovation can support the future of these properties and their dissemination among travellers and wider audiences.
