From rethinking audience transport and artistic programming to collaborating with sustainability networks, the festival is testing different ways to reduce the carbon emissions linked to travel. Its sustainability work also extends beyond the festival itself, sharing knowledge and experience with more than 30 cultural organisations through a regional network.

🎬 The International Short Film Festival of Cyprus has received the EFFE Label 2026–2027!

The Int'l Short Film Festival of Cyprus (ISFFC) celebrates outstanding short films across narrative, animation, documentary and experimental cinema, bringing together emerging and established filmmakers from Cyprus and around the world.

An official partner festival of the European Film Academy since 2019, ISFFC combines its national and international competitions with thematic screenings, masterclasses and site-specific events, creating a dynamic meeting point for film and other art forms in the Eastern Mediterranean.

PannOpticum has received the EFFE Label 2026–2027 🎖

The International Festival for Puppet Theatre and Performance PannOpticum returns this year under the artistic direction of Almut Schäfer-Kubelka and her team, presenting a vibrant programme across multiple venues in Neusiedl am See, Austria.

Held every two years since 2003, the three-day festival celebrates contemporary international puppetry while pushing the boundaries of the art form. Its programme brings puppetry into dialogue with performance, music, visual arts, dance, contemporary circus and experimental film, offering both indoor and outdoor experiences for audiences of all ages, whether lifelong enthusiasts or first-time visitors.

🎭 FIGURE IT OUT 2026 | Conference & Showcase for Figure Theater

From September 10–13, 2026, FIGURE IT OUT returns to Berlin with a program exploring inclusive aesthetics in figure theater. Featuring productions from France, the Czech Republic, and Germany, the event highlights innovative performances that integrate accessibility into their artistic language.

The program also includes audience talks, a practical symposium, and the premiere of Invisible, Schaubude Berlin's new production for blind, visually impaired, and sighted children.

For another year, Festival das Artes - QuebraJazz has received the EFFE Label 2026-2027 🎖

This year marks the 17th edition of the festival, celebrating and offering a diverse aesthetic view of the arts: music, theatre, dance, cinema, exhibitions, conferences, gastronomy and an educational programme. The festival will take place in the open-air amphitheatre, Colina de Camões, set in the beautiful and historical gardens of Quinta das Lágrimas.
