ATA President Mr. Georgiou Theodossis delivered an insightful presentation on Thursday 16 January at ΕΛΙΣΜΕ - HELISS www.elisme.gr, addressing 75+ Years of NATO and the Role of ATA (www.atahq.info). As President of both, the Member of ATA in Greece, the Greek Association for Atlantic and European Cooperation and the Atlantic Treaty Association, he emphasized how ATA has paralleled NATO's evolution, serving as a crucial bridge between the alliance and civil society. A key focus of his presentation was the indispensable role of National Atlantic Associations in fostering public understanding and support for NATO's mission. Mr. Georgiou also underscored the critical importance of formal cooperation between National Atlantic Associations and prominent think tanks in their respective countries to enhance strategic thinking and policy development. This model would position National Atlantic Associations at the forefront of shaping strategic thinking and policy formulation, ensuring that the transatlantic alliance remains agile and responsive to emerging challenges.
