𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲?

🎙️Isabel Rodríguez-Carretero Roldán and Fernando Santiago Izquierdo Castellano, two International Relations students from Universidad Loyola Andalucia, recently shared their experience as ELP fellows to UNIJES - Universidades Jesuitas.

For Isabel, ELP was "a space to ask what kind of leadership we want to exercise and from what values we want to build our careers." For Fernando, the standout was simpler: the programme's ability to build community. "Arriving in a new city can be challenging, and ELP quickly creates a welcoming environment built on trust, accompaniment and shared values."

Between weekly formation sessions, mentoring from EU professionals, volunteering, and living alongside 20 fellows from across Europe; both came away with more than professional experience and a clearer sense of direction.

🎓 "𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀. 𝗜𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻."

At last week's 15th ELP graduation, we were honoured to welcome Teresa Anjinho, European Ombudswoman, as our keynote speaker.

Drawing on her own trajectory in public life, she spoke of leadership as a long-term commitment to values rather. She was also open about the pressures that come with working in complex institutional environments, and honest about what carried her through: "Principles are like a lighthouse in a storm. They do not calm the sea. They do not stop the waves. But they help you stay on course."

Her message to the graduating cohort was clear: the world needs not only competent professionals, but leaders of character, people who are willing to hold to their convictions even when it comes at a cost.

🎓 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟭𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝗟𝗣 𝗰𝗼𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁!

👉 Yesterday, we had the joy of gathering to celebrate the graduation of an group of Fellows, marking the end of five months of community life, professional formation, and genuine personal growth with the European Leadership Programme (ELP).

🦉 The evening opened with warm words from Filipe Martins SJ, Director of JESC, and Erik De Bom, Director of UCSIA, who invited us to reflect on what it means to lead with integrity in uncertain times. We were deeply honoured to welcome Teresa Anjinho, European Ombudswoman, whose keynote brought together leadership, responsibility, and values in a way that stayed with us long after the evening ended. ELP alumna Elena Perez-Velasco then offered a generous and personal reflection, a beautiful gift to the new graduates as they step into the next chapter.

👥 This graduation was also a moment of farewell. Botond Feledy, who has been running the ELP since its very beginning and formed the soul of the project, and Benoît Willemaers s.j., who provided spiritual accompaniment and so much quiet, faithful work behind the scenes, are both moving on to their next step in life. The programme would not be what it is without them, and we are deeply grateful for everything they have given to it. A heartfelt thank you was also given to our mentors and coaches, whose quiet and faithful accompaniment also contributes to making this programme truly transformative.

To the 15th cohort: we are proud of the joint path of these last 5 months, and we are eager to see what you will be able to build, in service and commitment, in the future ahead. 🙏 🎊
