La musique fait vibrer les corps, libère les énergies et appelle l’orage. ⛈️

Dans 𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗖 𝙁𝙀𝙑𝙀𝙍, la « fever » est une joie contagieuse, festive et dansante, nourrie par l’élan, l’exaltation et l’énergie de la découverte.

That pulse runs through 𝘕𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘖𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘦 (5.12), the latest creation by exciting young composer Bastien David, taking the stage in Charleroi just two days after its premiere in Paris.

Gedurende 90 minuten dompelen 35 muzikanten van Ensemble intercontemporain en Les insectes, onder leiding van Pierre Bleuse, het staande publiek onder in een hypnotiserende klankstroom. Maak kennis met ongeziene instrumenten, waarvan sommige speciaal voor dit bijzondere werk werden ontworpen.

Jonge dansers uit de bachelor Dansinterpretatie van Charleroi danse en ARTS² brengen de energie van de muziek tot leven.

Des étendues blanches disparaissent … mais la musique reste !

𝘼𝙍𝘾𝙏𝙄𝘾 𝗙𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥 nous emmène au cœur du Grand Nord, de sa beauté naturelle à la fièvre qui le gagne aujourd’hui : le réchauffement climatique.

𝘔𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘴 𝘎𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘴 (27 & 28.11) stunningly evokes this theme. In Jean-Luc Fafchamps’ brand-new creation, melting ice cas take centre stage, as Chœur de chambre de Namur and soprano Sarah Defrise immerse us in vast polar landscapes slowly fading away ❄️

Tegenover het vergankelijke ijs staat de onvergankelijke muziek: in werken van Jaakko Mäntyjärvi, Einojuhani Rautavaara, Anna Thorvaldsdottir en focusartiest Anders Hillborg hoor je wat eeuwig blijft.

Du grand orchestre au hip-hop, 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗛𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗴 refuse de choisir entre les genres 🎶

Together with Kristine Tjøgersen, the Swedish composer is a featured artist at this year's Ars Musica festival. Known for turning the orchestra into his sonic laboratory, his music moves between radiant textures, pulsating energy and almost electronic soundscapes, all infused with a distinctly Nordic spirit.

Tijdens Ars Musica krijg je 7 keer de kans om zijn muziek te ontdekken. Van persoonlijk en intiem met Ava Bahari, Pierre Fontenelle en Ninon Hannecart-Ségal, tot vocaal met het Chœur de chambre de Namur en Sarah Defrise, in een nieuw jasje met Listening Orchestra, tot zijn grootse orkestrale kant met Belgian National Orchestra o.l.v. Eva Ollikainen en met Ida Falk Winland.

Des oiseaux de paradis colorés aux merveilles de la nature nocturne : chez 𝗞𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗷ø𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗻, tout ce qui vit est une source d’inspiration 🌿

Ars Musica celebrates the Norwegian composer as one of this year’s two featured artists. Born in Oslo in 1982, she has received numerous awards for her compositions. Through her organic, almost “biological” musical language, she seeks to give nature a voice — making her a perfect fit for this edition’s theme.

Haar muziek klinkt tijdens ARCTIC FEVER maar liefst 6 keer in de handen van topmusici en ensembles zoals Cikada Ensemble, Quatuor Diotima, Juliet Fraser & Hannah Weirich en het Belgian National Orchestra & Eva Ollikainen — met haar als focusartiest natuurlijk!

Sitting In A Room, La Monnaie, Ars Musica and Needcompany are looking for research participants between the age of 14 and 18 for a new project by Sarah Defrise, Stephane Ginsburgh, Victor Lauwers and Emily Hehl.

We will organize a research workshop hosted at MILL and La Monnaie where participants will work around themes connected to the notion of hysteria, madness and losing control in literature and opera repertoire.

The themes will be explored through improvisations of music, acting, movement, singing and writing, where participants will work closely together with professional musicians, singers and artists.

The workshop will take place between August 17th and 22th from 10.00 to 17.00 and is free of charge.

𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗖 𝗙𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥. 𝘞𝘦 𝘈𝘳𝘦 𝘏𝘰𝘵. Un large focus nordique, de l'Islande aux pays baltes, qui nous invite à brûler de curiosité plus que jamais, notamment aux côtés de Kristine Tjøgersen & Anders Hillborg, les artistes d’honneur de 2026.

Ensemble intercontemporain, Jean-Luc Fafchamps, Quatuor Diotima, Helena Tulve, Belgian National Orchestra, Erkki-Sven Tüür, Vlaams Radiokoor & Anna Thorvaldsdottir zijn maar een voorproefje van wat er te wachten staat. Het volledige programma volgt in september!

𝗜𝗻 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗺: Ars Musica rend hommage à José van Dam. Sa voix l'a porté durant plusieurs décennies sur les grandes scènes du monde. Baryton-basse belge au timbre splendide, il a défendu superbement le rôle-titre du toujours moderne 𝘞𝘰𝘻𝘻𝘦𝘤𝘬 d'Alban Berg et s'est investi dans la création de nouveaux ouvrages ambitieux, parmi lesquels 𝘚𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵-𝘍𝘳𝘢𝘯ç𝘰𝘪𝘴 𝘥'𝘈𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘦 d'Olivier Messiaen (Opéra de Paris, 1983) ou 𝘖𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘱𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘳 𝘭𝘢 𝘙𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘦 de Pierre Bartholomée (La Monnaie, 2003), jalons contemporains d'une carrière exceptionnelle.

𝗜𝗻 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗺: Ars Musica eert José van Dam, wiens stem decennialang de grootste operapodia ter wereld kleurde. De Belgische bas-bariton met een schitterende timbre vertolkte de titelrol in het nog steeds actuele 𝘞𝘰𝘻𝘻𝘦𝘤𝘬 van Alban Berg.
