: Call for Topics & Symposia

⏳ Submission Deadline: 13 July 2026

The European Academy of Management (EURAM) invites scholars and practitioners to help shape the programme of the 27th EURAM Annual Conference, taking place 22–25 June 2027 at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU), The Netherlands.

🌍 Conference Theme:
Rising Above: Embracing Resilience, Reimagining History, and Rethinking Management for a Sustainable Future
As organisations face unprecedented challenges—from climate change and social inequality to geopolitical uncertainty and technological disruption—EURAM 2027 calls for fresh perspectives on management, leadership, governance, and sustainability.

We welcome:
✅ Topic proposals
✅ Symposium proposals

A noteworthy development for EURAM 2027, the current SIG 09 OB&HRM will be split into two separate SIGs:
🔹 SIG 08 HRM – Human Resource Management
🔹 SIG 09 OB – Organisational Behaviour
Topics and symposia can therefore be submitted to these two newly separated SIGs.

It's Thursday and that means it's time for another episode of the series! Mine Karatas-Ozkan shares her experience throughout the years:

My own EURAM journey began in 2003 in Milan, when I was a second-year doctoral student. Over the past 22 years, that journey has taken me to incredible places: from track chair and mentor to conference organising committee member, Co-chair and Chair of the Doctoral Colloquium, EURAM Fellow, and now Vice President Talent Development.

Every step along the way has been filled with purpose, learning, and joy, but above all, with wonderful people. I have had the privilege of meeting and working alongside inspiring colleagues and friends who have profoundly shaped both my professional and personal life.

I am truly grateful to our EURAM community for the trust, encouragement, and opportunities that have allowed me to grow, contribute, and hopefully touch the lives of others in return.

I am excited about the journey ahead, with deep gratitude for the past and great motivation for the future.

To many more years together! This is the EURAM spirit. 💙

Episode #5 of our campaign, this time with Dr. Christian Roland Neusser:

I came to EURAM as a practitioner-entrepreneur working on transformation and succession in the German Mittelstand.

I stayed because the conversations consistently challenged my assumptions, sharpened my research questions, and connected me to collaborators who are both intellectually demanding and personally supportive.

Within the SIG Family Business Research (FABR), I experienced what "collaboration" truly means: not networking as an end, but the steady craft of building ideas together across disciplines, methods, and career stages.

Those interactions shaped my doctoral work on external succession and outsider leaders in family-owned manufacturing firms, which I successfully defended in January 2026.

Now, as Track Chair for EURAM 2026 within SIG FABR, I see my role as giving back: curating spaces where early-career scholars find constructive challenge, where practitioners' realities inform theory, and where research becomes more relevant through co-creation.

That, to me, is the EURAM spirit: high standards, shared curiosity, and real human connection💙

This week, moved into its new Brussels office, and to mark the occasion, our President Alessandro Zattoni joined us to see the space and celebrate this new beginning together 🎉

We're excited about what's ahead: in Kristiansand is just around the corner, and this fresh start only adds to the energy.

And if you happen to be passing through Brussels, the door is open! We'd love to welcome fellow members for a coffee and a chat. Come say hello☕

Episode 4 of the campaign unveiled! with Joanna Szulc, VP EURAM Early Career Community:

Rome, 2018. My first EURAM Early Career Colloquium. Fresh out of my PhD, excited, nervous, and very attached to my ideas.

Then Fabian Homberg walked into my session. He wasn't a mentor, just someone interested in the topic. And he challenged me. A lot.

My first thought? "Who is this person and why is he questioning everything?" 🤔

But after the formal presentation, we talked. My impression completely changed. Fabian was friendly, curious, genuinely interested in helping me improve my work. When I emailed him later, he sent back incredibly detailed feedback. There was nothing in it for him.

That was the moment I truly understood the EURAM spirit: generosity, collectiveness, and sincere support for early career scholars.

Fast forward several years: Fabian and I have co-authored papers, attended countless colloquia together, visited each other's institutions, and are still plotting future research projects.

What started as an uncomfortable challenge grew into collaboration, friendship, and an ongoing exchange of ideas.

That's what EURAM does: it builds your academic family, one conversation at a time.

This is the EURAM spirit. 💙

🌟 Episode 3 of the campaign, with Dr. Hamid Kazeroony, SPHR, SHRM-SCP:

Mentorship has always been at the heart of EURAM. Through the Doctoral Colloquium and EECC, I've been fortunate to mentor doctoral and early-career scholars across the years.

What makes EURAM mentorship unique? It extends far beyond the conference itself. It's not a one-off conversation, it's the beginning of a relationship.

Several scholars I mentored have stayed connected over the years. I've watched them:
• Refine their research
• Publish their first papers
• Join and lead SIGs
• Eventually mentor others themselves

That continuity - seeing mentees become colleagues and collaborators - is one of the most meaningful aspects of my EURAM involvement.

EURAM mentorship embodies the belief that our field advances when we invest in each other. This is the EURAM spirit. 💙
